The Naltar Valley is a valley situated about 34 kilometres (21 miles) from the city of Gilgit in Gilgit−Baltistan, Pakistan. It is a forested region known for its dramatic mountain scenery and for the three lakes-Strangi Lake, Blue Lake and Bodlok Lake. Ski competitions are held at Naltar ski resort.
The district of Neelum is the northernmost of 10 districts located within the Pakistani-administered territory of Azad Kashmir. Taking up the larger part of the Neelam Valley, the district has a population of around 191,000 people. It was among the worst-hit areas of Pakistan during the 2005 Kashmir earthquake
Shangrila was established in 1983 with the opening of the first resort hotel in Skardu. The Shangrila Resort Hotel was founded by Muhammad Aslam Khan Afridi, a Pakistani military officer who served as the first commander of the Northern Scouts of the Pakistan Army. The resort is known for its restaurant that is built on the fuselage of a nearby crashed aircraft.
Deosai National Park is a high-altitude alpine plain (plateau) and National Park located in between Skardu, Astore and Kharmang district in Gilgit Baltistan. Most of the area falls in Skardu District.
Deosai Plains are situated at an average elevation of 4,114 metres (13,497 ft) above sea level and considered as the second highest plateaus in the world.
Gojal also called Upper Hunza, is situated in the far north of Pakistan. It borders China at the Khunjerab Pass and Afghanistan at the Chapursan valley. In 2019, Gojal Valley became the second Sub-Division within the Hunza District. It is geographically the largest Sub-Division of the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan.
Bumburet is the largest valley of Kalasha Desh in Chitral District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the province of Pakistan.
The Bumburet valley joins the Rumbur valley (5,380 ft), and then joins the Kunar Valley at the village of Ayun (4,600 ft), some 20 kilometres (12 mi) south (downstream) of Chitral. To the west the valley rises to a pass connecting to Afghanistan's Nuristan Province at about 4,500 metres (14,800 ft). The valley is inhabited by the Kalash people, and has become a tourist destination. However, their population is rapidly declining. As of 2019, only 37 households existed in the valley that still followed traditional practices.
The Kalasha Valleys are valleys in Chitral District in northern Pakistan. The valleys are surrounded by the Hindu Kush mountain range. The inhabitants of the valley are the Kalash people, who have a unique culture, language and follow a form of ancient Hinduism. As such, the Kalasha Valleys are a source of attraction for Pakistanis as well as International tourists. There are three main valleys. The largest and most populous valley is Bumburet (Mumuret), reached by a road from Ayun in the Kunar Valley. Rumbur is a side valley north of Bumburet. The third valley, Biriu (Birir), is a side valley of the Kunar Valley south of Bumburet.
The White Palace of Marghazar was built in 1940 by the first king of Swat, Miangul Abdul Wadud (Badshah Sahib) in the small town of Marghazar situated at about 13 kilometers away from Saidu Sharif. The name was given to the palace as it was built of white marble. The name has been changed 3 times first it was named Swati Palace and then Motti Palace and then White Palace. The palace now serves as a hotel. The White Palace at Marghazar was the summer residence of the Wali of Swat, Miangul Jehanzeb. Located at 7,136 feet above sea level on Marghazar Hill, it was later converted into a tourist resort.
Gorakh Hill is a hill station of Sindh, Pakistan. It is situated at an elevation of 5,689 ft (1,734 m) in the Kirthar Mountains, 94 kilometers (58 mi) northwest of Dadu city.
There are several myths that trace the origins of the meadow's name, 'Siri Paye'. However the most plausible explanation to the name would be, Sar meaning “lake” in Hindko, the a common language in Kaghan, as well as in Seraiki and Punjabi. While Paya in Hindko is a high grazing ground.
