slow your roll fella's. now after Ray Robinson, Duran in my opinion is the top #2 or #3 pound for pound. He was a bad ass through n through he did get caught with a great punch by Hearns but we all know Duran was much more intense and had the killer instinct that fueled that flame to come and wreck anyone who got in his wah and he was extremely effective he hit every bit as hard as a light heavyweight and left and right hand were deadly n when he fought Leonard the first time he beat the shit outta him and damn near KOed him in the 3rd n he wobbleled hearns with a couple punches and that fight would have ended with Duran winning. Duran had to deal with not only skilled fighters but he was a lightweight first n arguably the best and unbeatable at that class with is record being 82-1 before fighting Leonard the first time and that loss he had was from a non sanctioned fight and he avenged the loss also he had over 60 KO's Duran had to deal with taller and heavier fighters with longer arms and that shit ain't easy but take a look at when him and haggler fought. Duran gave him as much as he wanted. my opinion and I stand behind it firmly. your entitled to yours I jus wanted to set the record streigbt.

Ehhhhhh, Intimidation and knockout power are two different things. While almost all of the guys on the list has 70% or above KO rates, it isn't just that which maded them feared, they were also just in general people who could scare you just by looking directly at you and giving you an evil glare. Julian has an insane knockout ratio, but I just don't get the same feeling from him as I do from the guys on this list, like Big George or Nigel Benn. Marvin Hagler's last fight was against Ray Leonard...who decided to run and pitty pat for 12 rounds when he realized that Hagler was a terrifying opponent. According to Hagler, this was the only time in 70 fights that he basically left a fight without a scratch, because Leonard tricked the public by basically running from him for 12 rounds. Duran was also terrified of Hagler, and basically avoided a brawl and decided to try to outbox Hagler until Hagler got wise to this. This got Hagler mad and both had basically a street fight for 11 rounds. Hagler knocked him out but pissed blood afterwards. Mugabi was sent to the hospital. All of them were in your face and fought for inches. All of them had mean intentions, and all of them were ice cold. A few honorable mentions for Ron Lyle, David Tua, Jake LaMotta, and Earnie Shavers. Dempsey and Louis definitely could chill opponents to the bone. A controversial nod to Tex Cobb. He wasn't a one punch ko artist like Tyson or Foreman, but he was immensely strong and of course he could take a wrecking ball to the face in his prime. In his Autobiography Ken Norton openly admitted to backing out of a street fight with Cobb after narrowly winning a split decision in the ring over him. "I wasn't crazy" he wrote. While I'm on the subject I might as well give a shout out to Max Baer, Jim Jeffries, George Chuvalo, and Cleveleland Williams.

People really have no clue how intimidating sonny was. Not just physically but imagine some union workers get out of hand and Blinky Palermo sending the heavyweight champ of the world to break heads. Beating up cops, shaking down bookies and criminals, knocking out guys in prison, it was the mystique, and it was real.

Good list. I personally would have had Foreman at 2 and Tyson at 3. Even when George was scared as he ever had been in the ring at that point facing off against Frazier, he looked scary as fuck. Just everything about him looked mean, then add to that possibly the hardest punch in boxing history, you have an intimidating boxer. Think Liston still deserves #1 though. Both Foreman and Tyson have said he is the most intimidating boxer ever. That's enough reason out of the list there is.
