As a french native and living in France. I can say that: France is certainly one of the most geographically and culturally diverse countries in Europe. There are huge differences in cuisine, lifestyle, architecture, dialect/language, landscape and flora, especially between the far north and the far south. When you compare Artois or Brittany with Provence or the Languedoc, it's hard to imagine that they are part of the same country.If you plan to drive in France, avoid highways. Buy Michelin roadmaps (or use Michelin online) and follow the green scenic routes (usually Departmentales or National roads), and it saves you money + get great affordable food in local villages as opposed on highways. It will make your journey just as fulfilling as reaching your destination. If you don't like booking hotels, there are also camping sites everywhere in France. France is beautiful indeed. The Eiffel tower, besides being a viewpoint for paris, it has a restaurant too. Depending on the kind of trip you want to do, you can do it cheaper than that. Go for a weekend, from Friday to Monday, get cheap flights, get cheap rooms and marathon Paris for a weekend. Get subway tickets, a map and a list of what do you want to visit. Buy food at the supermarket or little markets. Walk to places. It is a short period to get to know Paris deeply, but you will be surprise with the amount of things you can do on a flash trip to Paris or to any other European capital. Most of my travelling along Europe has been this way and I don't think I could have done it in any other way...

what you didn't say is that in France, we leave Paris to go to the north, 3 hours drive, to go to Alsace, 5 hours drive, to go to Brittany, 4 hours drive roads, to go to Normandy to see the landing beaches of 1944, 3 hours drive (I'm talking about motorways of course, by road, you have to slow down at each village, we drive at 50 km/h in general, and 80 or 90 km/h on the roads (depending on the department) on motorways, it's 130 km/h, 110 km/h if it rains (to avoid aquaplaning) from Paris to Bordeaux, you can take the TGV or for Marseille from Paris, it takes a little more than 3 hours by TGV to go south from Paris, if we compare to the vast country that is the USA, France allows you to see very different landscapes in a few hours, in the morning, you can ski in Vars and in the afternoon go for a walk around the Mediterranean!! just as you can ski in the Pyrenees and then go down to Perpignan or Argeles or St Cyprien!!

France I consider to be the most beautiful country in Europe. Part of that is given by the landscapes and colours throughout the seasons, the other part is the abundance of restored and ruined castles perched on rocks. You can buy the ruined ones for a euro, but are required to maintain it or even restore parts of them, which tends to be an expensive hobby. Traveling in Europe doesn't need to be very expensive. Two flights from Helsinki and a B&B for a week should be less than Eu 1000,- Add to that a Eu 200,- a day to really do about anything and you're fine. Obviously you can spend a lot more if you want to, but this would be quite luxurious already. Oh,.. and that is for two people... In winter many hotels are really cheap in case you'd like to see some daylight desperately.
@noefillon1749
2 жыл бұрын
That's already expensive. It could cost less depending on where you go. But if you want to see the countryside, you'll have to rent a car. If you stick to the cities (even little cities like Carcassonne), the train will be enough, but it could also be expensive.

You can spend a full week in Paris and only see a fraction of all what's to see there. And you can do it for much much much LESS than 5K ! With the right info, you could have a full week of visits and experiences in Paris for like 1K. You might be able to do it for half that if you play it well. I can give you advice and fill you in on the things to do, some of the major touristy stuff and some of the real Paris experience. I'm a lifelong Parisian, always happy to show both sides of Paris. As for other places in France, there are a ton : from the world's largest mega ski resorts in the Tarantaise Olympic valley, to the calanques (rocky cove beaches with pristine water) of Marseille and Cassis, the "pink city" aka Toulouse, Europe's aerospace capital to the Dune du Pilat, a gigantic dune located near an estuary in the middle of a forest (shown at the very end of the video). And so many other things. France has one of the most diverse surroundings on the planet, given the size of the country. Hello, my apologies for errors but unfortunately I am not very good at the language of Shakespeare. I live in Rouen, in Normandy, where the accursed English burned Jeanne d'Arc. ^^ First of all, thank you for taking an interest in our beautiful country, it's fun to see yourself through the eyes of foreigners. And it's true that it's a beautiful country, it's not for nothing that we are the first tourist country in the world it seems to me, that is largely explained because we offer a rather incredible diversity, whether in the landscapes, in the architecture, in the gastronomy, in the historical monuments which are innumerable here, all on an area which is ultimately not that huge. As a result, you just have to travel a few kilometers sometimes to find something very different, it's one of our particularities. All the regions shown in your video are worth the trip. If you don't know Mont Saint Michel, go there without hesitation, it's a unique place, I don't see anything comparable in the world. But for me there is a huge omission that deserves its place in this top 10, it's the Loire Valley. Historically, culturally and for landscapes, fauna and flora, it is one of our richest regions, if not the richest. It is here that you will find castles and gardens that have made France famous, such as the castles of Chambord, Chenonceaux, Azay-le-Rideau, Ussé (the castle of Sleeping Beauty), Villandry, Blois, Amboise and I forget some because there are a multitude of them in this area, all more magnificent than the other. Very well known for its vineyards too, if you like to eat well, this is a good place. I can only encourage you to go there one day if you have the opportunity. On the other hand, I feel obliged to advise you against going to the cliffs of Etretat. Certainly this place is magnificent but that is precisely the problem, it is a place which is today a victim of its own success. A TV series broadcast here has done it a lot of harm, since tourists have been flocking there en masse and degrading the site, it's a small town, 1,300 inhabitants, and they can't take it anymore and can't manage to welcome all those visitors who don't really respect the place. Now it's endless traffic jams, full car parks, crowded streets, the floors are degraded with the footsteps of tourists. It has come to such a point that the inhabitants are moving from their homes, the tourist office has received instructions from the town hall to no longer display photos of the cliffs, to tell you where it is . I think there is a bit the same problem for the cliffs and creeks of Cassis near Marseille. That's all, sorry for the long message. 😁

No .. Paris ist not expansive at all, when you know some things. Book Airbnb … book early flights and look online for tickets. You will save time and money. And food is effordable too. The rule is: don’t eat at the tourists spots. I payed for 4 days incl. Disneyland, entrance to Louvre, Guided tours … around 500 Euro incl. flight from Berlin to Paris. This also works with other European countries and cities like Rome ore Barcelona.
