The artist that drew Poliwhirl went crazy! It's so so so good! All the art in this set is amazing! So many beautiful cards!

My friend just made a fun honchkrow v/pachirisu deck where he just stacks a bunch of tools on honchcrows and smacks super hard with pachirisu. Then rotom v comes in to retaliate once the tools are in the discard. That electrode would be great for that too. Great video!

Pachirisu is better than electrode

Love that this channel is growing. Told a few Magic players that tried Pokemon at our Tuesday Standard about this channel.

As someone that grew up during pokemania I can't help but look forward to this set. It looks like it's going to be a fun one!

Aerodactyl absolutely has sleeper potential. Dealing 80 damage and devolving the Defending Pokemon for one Double Turbo has to have some application, especially with the prevalence of Rare Candy in the format. You can effectively get rid of things no other single prizer can for so few attachments, and sometimes only taking 1 prize from the Basic that evolved into an EX might be worth it just for momentum. It being a fossil Pokemon is a liability, but the Old Amber in the set is unaffected by enemy abilities, AND being Stage 1 gives it an in into Zoroark's box of attackers.

I think Aerodactyl is known to be very good and therefore not a sleeper

There was a Caterpie and Metapod line that just rotated that would've been perfect for this butterfree. The ability allowed you to evolve it on the turn you play it, so you can cheat straight to butterfree on Turn 1. I used to play a Noctowl/Pidgeot deck that would try to bench wipe the opponent, and it was a ton of fun.

The main issue I see with Erika’s invitation is that decks that play a lot of 2 prize basic pokemon already fill the bench really fast. Mew max, Miraidon, Lugia (less so but still). It’s a very strong effect but it may not quite hit til Paradox Rift comes out and we get lots more basic 2 prizers worth playing like Roaring Moon ex

the only thing I miss here from the mtg channel is an opening rap about pokemon when the video starts 😢

never saw the wigglytuff. from all the tcg experience, for all I know this could be another wailord ex situation. the deck isnt meant to attack. it exists just as a way to stall out your opponent and heal up until they deck out. depending on future stall support, it could actually be very very good for stall players

I dunno if I would count Wigglytuff ex as a sleeper. It is a very good tank that I hear many players talking about.

I think snorlax + leftovers is interesting if you want to try to use that electrode card

You brought up Ting-Lu when talking about the Hitmonchan, but the Hitmonlee is much better in that deck. Putting 10 damage on the opponents entire bench then switching itself into Ting-Lu is pretty absurd.

The real money is in the master ball holos. When english releases people are going to go even crazier than the last two month with Japanese 151 and this will drive up the demand of master balls. Expect $1400 Pikachu, $800 Gengar, $700 Erika, $600 Mewtwo, $500 Eevee, $300 Eeve evolutions, $400 Dragonite, $250-350 starters, etc.

When will they stop powercreeping? I can’t play any Pokémon tcg past 2010 bc now the cards hit hard asf for like 2 energy and hp is at least 200 for just a basic and it’s now forced to have a Pokémon v card in your deck or else you’ll get steamrolled

You can always find a playgroup that's willing to make decks that exclude rule box Pokemon to have a more classic experience. The Gym Leader Challenge format is also a lot of fun as well and has a no rule box clause. The powercreep is definitely annoying, but once you give in and play some of the modern OP decks, the game is actually still really fun.
