They’re ridiculously strict I think like I believe you should get some do overs like I put my foot down on figure of 8 and so I failed. All it would’ve taken is to let me do a couple more figure of 8s to show that I can do it
@BC-xu8yq

That is the point of the test. You need to be able to do any of these manoeuvres anytime anywhere. It's a crude rule of thumb for ability but there needs to be some sort of criteria for such a short test.

I agree. I failed because I put my foot down at the end of the U turn. In real life I've never needed to do a U turn without putting my foot down!

Unlucky mate, not a problem hope it helps next time around! Good news is it's an easy manoeuvre to improve just on theory as I've described, unlike a balance one. If you forget everything else, just remember: rest your foot over the rear's, and let the front brakes do most the work!

Thank you! In all fairness that is the dummy-proof method which I agree with purely for test purposes. Goes without saying in real life you want to be using both of course as effectively to decrease your stopping distance in an emergency. (I guess this is why most instructors have to teach using the front and rear from DVSA training / guidelines and due to liability...)

The Future that’s, I bought this up with a couple of guys today. They both said when on track they don’t even use the rear. Apparently this is common in racing. On the road you’re right, good to be used to using both. A lot of schools are starting to use ABS bikes too, my SV has this and in an emergency... mash that pedal. ;). Have a good one!

Hello mate, just a question. How come rebooking cost only £15? My mod 1 cost around £450 and £550 the mod 2. Haven't do my test yet but the office of which I booked them told me if I fail the mod 1 is £250 to give it again,test only. They will lend me the motorcycle etc

@C9S1

Chocolate 19 I recommend at least a couple hours min to get you up to speed, as everyone has habits they would have picked up on in that time that won’t be in your favour with DVSA examiners. Also even though you’ve been riding for years, there’s specific things, eg roundabout observation procedures to name a few, that you more than likely don’t do exactly as they want, that’ll cause you to fail. I pretty much have covered 99% of the stuff you need to know to pass in my playlist, so it’s up to you judge by watching if you already do most the things on there - and I’ve designed it to help people self-teach themselves without the need for instructors. Hope that helps, anything else let know

I have my CBT and am going to do the full test soon, so I have been practicing my tight figures of 8. You need to counter lean, get the bike right over, put near full lock on , and use the clutch to speed up if you feel you are falling into the turn. Same goes for U turns. Practice them! Do them over and over again till they are tight and you are confident you can drop into one any time.

What you said about putting your foot down is so not true. Yes, you do instant fail for what you mentioned, but I was turning back around to do the Swerve Avoidance when my front slipt on the wet tarmac, causing me to put my foot down and fail.
