I love this channel, it's been so helpful. I'm from Amsterdam, The Netherlands and I'm engaged to an American who lives in Phoenix. I've visited once, I'll be back in November and the plan is that once we get married I'll be moving there. I have to be honest, I do have my concerns, especially when I see Americans saying that they would advice to stay in Europe, because of many reasons, like the gun violence and the bad (expensive) healthcare. So I'm nervous because of those reasons, but after seeing this video it just made me super excited. Because you pointed out so many things that for me are important and attractive. So thank you so much for taking a bit of my concerns away! Keep making these great videos 😃

IMO, there really are two Arizona's: the greater Phoenix valley, and every place else. Much of what Jeff said only applies to Phoenix. And, sorry, 'reasonable" (compared to more expensive US cities) and 'affordable' housing prices (for the average income family) are two different animals.

Returning subscriber. Great videos. I've driven through northern & southern AZ on multiple occasions, including a week in Tucson. Drove I-10 westward back through AZ last summer. I didn't find AZ to be inexpensive at the time, high rents and the home prices. The people I ran into, though, were some of the most friendly ever. Impending water shortage (from low river levels of the Colorado River & population growth) is a concern.

Lived there 11 years up to 11 years ago, shorts and sandals weather year round,beautiful sunsets great art shows. That's all that's good. No green except cactus, except Grand Canyon,but it's spendy to go. The sun eats everything , skin turns brown,but your skin ages fast ,fast, there is limited water , and lots of sediment in water,tastes awful. You can't touch anything during summer it's too hot, burn fingers on steering wheel , or door handles. Drivers are from 14 to 104 most visiting from somewhere cold,lots of snow birds die here from out of state. M13 gang runs Az. Snakes bugs and giant roaches,oh my. There's always a huge traffic jam,because of all accidents. Schools were horrible , prices are so high ,except for produce. Most people eat out all the time. Housing is cheaper but your air conditioning will kill, I'm not ever going back unless I need to fly through Sky Harbor at midnight at 100 plus degrees ,heading else where. The locals, don't like the visitors only thier money. But for all who like transients it's great during few months of winter

@Moon Shine Canadians can't just move there and get a job like Americans coming from another state. Canadians can visit and stay up to five months, go back for a few weeks, and then go back to AZ again for another 5 months. As long as we aren't taking jobs, we can buy property and enjoy the state. The only reason we have to come back to Canada is because of insurance and health insurance. If you leave the province for more than 5 months, they consider you as leaving the province permanently, and all the insurance gets canceled.

Good one Jeff. Maybe too good! If you get my drift. One reason for all the things you say positive about our lovely state is the population density is very low, if you get away from the two major population centers of Phoenix and Tucson. And those two places are where the negatives like crime are centered, otherwise yes, if you like the outdoors, it's your place. I paint landscapes en plein air (outdoors) and that's a major reason I'm living here now. Also, we have very little in the way of natural disasters, no quakes, little rain, tornadoes, hurricanes, and no snow unless you seek it out, but rarely "ice ages" like in the east, and your car won't float away in a rainstorm, like in CA now, unless you are stupid in a flash flooded area. And it will cost you big bucks to get rescued; so don't be that stupid guy or gal and drive into what looks like a "little puddle", in your Prius! Get a big truck, first thing, if you move here! ;D But the critters, ah yes, the Crittttttttttters!! You gotta love creepy crawlies, if you move here!! We have millions of snakes, scorpions, and billions of killer bees, so be careful and aware, especially on those picturesque hikes. Put down the selfie stick and phone and look where you put your feet, and which tree you walk under. And bring water, the number one reason for deaths of AZ tourists is from dehydration; it creeps up fast and will kill you in a few hours. Otherwise, it's one of the best places to live, not only in the USA, but the whole planet!! Right Jeff? LOL ;D

Another guy, a golfer was found dead a few feet from a water hazard on a golf course he had been playing, he tried to get away from the bees, but did not make it to the water!

Due to climate change, the heat index in the next 7 years will make Arizona uninhabitable. The winters will be like summer and the summers will well exceed the temps we have now. This heat index will be well over 136° to above the range of 146° or so. In areas for forest fires we have every year will literally scorth the forest to the ground all over and this includes in the valley of the sun which is Phoenix and all surrounding cities. There will be no more Arizona if the climate doesn't change by 2030, this includes the entire planet. The heat index will continue to rise. Let's not forget the melting of ice in the arctic regions of earth has and will continue releasing methane gas from the ice that will will disperse in Earth's atmosphere. This won't just affect Arizona but the entire planet. Do your research, information is out there. Let's not forget the incoming Asteroid Apophis in the year of 2029. That is roughly the size of three Rose Bowl Stadiums that will dip below our satellites in space. Along with Apophis coming that same year is a large Meteor the size of Mount Everest that will be close to earth just like Apophis. We will be living some interesting times in years ahead. Let's not forget the drying up of our rivers, streams, lakes, and other water ways, a crashing economy, rising food/gas/housing/other prices that bring about a famine, pestilence, wars, and death like we ever seen. The bible talks about a lot of this. I would be seriously repenting of your sins and so so much more now and fulfill God's wills and give your entire life to Jesus with no excuses. Not being Luke warm but on fire with Jesus. All this I said is at an all time high to happen with the next 7 to 10 years that can catapult humanity and this planet we live on to it's dire destruction. We are a pivotable brink of a global crisis the world has ever seen. Time is now, this isn't ministry but a plea to you that your life on earth is temporary and where you go from here is based on the choice you make now that is the straight and narrow pathway that leads to the Kingdom or the wide and open pathway that will lead you to your destruction. Give your life to Christ Jesus our Savior our King our redeemer of the faith we hold to by our works. All glory and thanks to Jesus Christ and the gift of the holy spirit. Hallelujah.

I've been here 20 years and the prices of homes have risen to California prices making it an impossible place to live outside of massively overpriced apartments for the vast majority of people.

I love living in Arizona, however, they're making a huge mistake by taking up massive city block after city block with these huge apartment complexes. Each apartment represents multiple people living on top of people, and each one of those people have a car. Our freeways are going to look like Southern California very soon, and trust me, you won't be happy when were living in gridlock as you try and navigate yourself around town.
@ronschlorff7089

yup, I'll drive way out of my way to avoid going through Phoenix, unless it is a reason to do so, like medical appt., to miss the freeways, there are alternative routes that are "very lonely" when it comes to traffic!

@Moon Shine public transit would be a good idea if made cheap efficient and above all safe. I rode light rail in Sacto region for many years, at first it was all of the above, but over time it devolved and was less so in all categories. They had transit police who threw free loaders off the train in the middle of nowhere at first, but later city officials found that "cruel on the homeless" and then folks slowly stopped riding and found other means, like carpools to get to and from work. The fairs had to increase due to lower ridership and this spiral continued. I'm far from there now and don't use it but have not found any reports on its status. Same with BART, I used it when brand new, it was great, but now it is deemed unsafe by many folks, like the NY subway system. For the reasons stated above, homeless and criminals using it.

Arizona is also the number #1 spot for child trafficking in the USA. Our schools are garbage. This video is depicting just the rich Scottsdale areas. Downtown is where everyone congregates from all over the valley and it’s the hotspot for angry over hot people.

I was born and raised in AZ and don't want to move anywhere else. My son bought a new build in Flagstaff several years ago and due to a job transfer he sold that home for more the twice the amount of what he paid. He bought a home in the Verrado area of Buckeye and was able to add a pool. Both him and his wife work for APS. My granddaughter just graduated from Coconino high school, she was the Salutatorian. She has a Lumberjack scholarship to NAU where she will start pre med in the fall. There are a lot of opportunities in AZ. Taking the ski lift at snow bowl in the fall is spectacular, but where warm clothes and a blanket is a must. 🌵👍

I started to first motions on my moving back to AZ in late August, and experienced some set backs that really challenged my decision ($2,000 worth of car repairs). However, I am back on board and should be there the first week in Dec 2023. However, I do have some concerns about extremely high electric bills, currently it is Oct 21st, and its 98 degrees in Tempe? I know I will have to really live humbly when there this time or else things can get out of hand fast financially.

Believe me there are no reasons to move to Arizona. Unless you are into hiking and off- roading there is absolutely nothing to do. It's hot AF. The traffic sucks. The homeless is starting to rival California, and 15 years ago it was clean and beautiful where as today Phoenix has trash everywhere, even in the nicer towns like Mesa and Chandler. The school systems are awful and when you meet people who were born there you can say something to them and it will take then 10 seconds to respond to you because you can literally see the wheels moving in their brain trying to form a thought. Also they are not nice there they are fake AF and just pretend. If you move there and you hate it like we did just remember you've been warned.
