Scar from "The Lion King" should've gotten onto this list, or at least an honorable mention. He killed his own brother in a horrifying way and smiled in his face as he betrayed him, mentally and emotionally scarred his nephew for life and tried to have him killed twice, abused Simba's mother when she called him out, imprisoned and mistreated Zazu for years, abandoned his most loyal supporters, and drove an entire kingdom into starvation and disrepair. In the end, his death was pure poetic justice: He got exposed for all his lies, lost his throne, and then was betrayed and eaten alive by his own minions, a fate FAR worse than Mufasa's!

The film's editors cheated you a little bit. Once T-1000 reformed after the liquid nitro froze him and Ah-nuld's bullet blew him to pieces, he was supposed to be shown as somewhat glitched, which was how John Connor could tell it apart from the real Sarah(his feet were supposed to be the color of the grating he stood on). It's also why when thrashing in the molten steel, his rewind into other guises shows John's stepmother with the blade growing from the wrong arm.

This needs to be a much longer list. So many good ones missed. The Bad getting killed at the end of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly in that brilliant Mexican standoff scene is my favourite. Followed by the emperor in Gladiator and the warden in Shawshank Redemption

@christianhoffmann8252

Padme commited suicide, the moms death was luck (for the Emperor) and killing a religious enemy might not be very kind, but it's basically the same thing the Jedi wanted to do to him. I'd say that it's easy to see the Emperor as the hero. Just like the king in Hero (the chinese movie) he frees the galaxy from most internal struggles and actually establishes peace. It might require a hard hand (including the slaughter of all the Jedi and destruction of an inhabited planet) to keep the peace, but it is arguably better than mini-factions fighting each other while a useless senat watches them all the time. There is no clear good or evil in this movies. Dark does not equal evil, just because its followers are ugly (cheerleader-logic?). On the one hand you have some power-hungry individuals with real human emotions. On the other hand you have an hippocratic order of chaste monks with impossible-to-follow rules, who interfere in politics as they see fit without being legititated by anybody but themselves. If you ask me that's more a grey-vs-grey-thing.
@TallMist
9 жыл бұрын
Christian Hoffmann Hm, not sure how to respond to that except you made very good points and... I never actually thought of Padme's death as a suicide... ._. I mean, I always knew it was, lost the will to live, but the word suicide never crossed my mind. Wow. Revenge of the Sith is even darker than I thought.
@christianhoffmann8252
9 жыл бұрын
LastWill1000 I never heard of someone who "Lost the will to live" and actually died immediately despite doing nothing but lying on his back....in an hospital! Sure, there are old people who die some months or even weeks after their spouses, but I think that they were ill anyway and just stop taking their medicine. Ever heard of someone around the age of 25 who died in a good medical condition just because he felt like it? Neither did I. So I have to assume that Padmes death is some kind of fancy force-suicide or something similar. And that's actually another point for dark=not so bad and light=not so good. Padme gives birth to two children and decides that life is not worth living? At least she had the decency to give her kids names, but she is still a very bad mother. Anakin on the other hand learns that he has a son and his first reaction is, that he wants to spend quality time with him (is there any way ruling the galaxy as father and son is not quality time?). Yes, he cuts off Lukes hand, but in a world where you get better-than-new replacements that isn't such a big deal. One should also not forget, that the Jedi take Anakin away from his mother..... and don't even allow him to visit her. I'd say, that when it comes to parenting, the dark-siders are the better choice.
@TallMist

Christian Hoffmann Well, I heard a heartbreak could be strong enough to kill, so... I just thought it was that. As for the second part, it just goes to show that the Jedi aren't as squeaky clean as they want people to think.

Beni Gabor deserves to be on this list. He died at the end from "the mummy" when thousends of scarabs attacked him. Carl Bruner from "Ghost" had a good and satisfying death. Burn in hell, Baby. Carter Burke in "Aliens" tried to escape without the others and got his reward behind the next door. Baron Vladimi Harkonnen gets what he deserves for all his pervert behaviours and many more things in a worm. Also his nephew Feyd deserves it when he fights against Paul/Uzul/Muad`Dib. Huey Rauch in "Brubaker" deserved it, to get shot after he killed a prisoner and later another one.

Timothy Bottoms' character in the movie "Rollercoaster". Was glad when he got killed when he got hit by the rollercaoster at the end of the movie. Strangely though, hardly anyone in the theater cheered when Bottoms' character got killed, but everyone in the audience clapped and cheered when the bomb squad de-activated the bomb that Bottoms planted a split second before he could detonate it.

I feel like Quaritch's death from Avatar was really satisfying because it took SOO long for him to die, and there were so many scenes where you were almost certain he was gonna die, but he didn't, and when he finally died I was so happy.
