I saw her live in Vancouver on my 30th birthday in 2000 when she was 60 (I could have seen her in San Antonio with Joe Cocker 3 weeks before and that is only 1 hour from my then residence). Janice Robinson (from Livin' Joy), Lionel Richie, and Tina. I will never forget that show.

I remember seeing Tina at Staples Center in Anaheim in 2000. Lionel Richie opened for her as she did for him in the past. It was a great show and although I'm not from Los Angeles, the Angelinos seemed especially vibrant, I would say almost proud to claim her as their own. The applause was thunderous and the whole place seemed to be like you were in another world or dimension.

I'm so glad to have grown up on Tina Turner. I remember her in the early 1960s (I was born in 1956) when she would come on TV shows such as Hollywood A-Go-Go, Hullabaloo, Shindig, The Ed Sullivan Show, Playboy After Dark, Soul Train, The Midnight Special, Hollywood Palace, Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, Cher, and ?who could forget, the 1966 movie "The Big TNT Show," and many, many more. And THAT was just in America. You can find many old Ike-&-Tina videos (film clippings) here on KZitem of Tina (and Ike-&-Tina, with the Ikettes) performing throughout the world during the 1960s and 1970s. What a talent. What a career. What a woman! The 20th Century just would NOT have been the 20th Century without her. And let's not forget films like Soul to Soul and Gimme Shelter.

People who are constantly being abused, verbally emotionally, and physically feel that way all the time. You're constantly being brought down by people who are supposed to love and protect you. Any of us who've been through that can relate. We feel we aren't allowed happiness love or peace. That's why when she let go and forgave those who did her wrong she allowed herself to live and be free. What really pisses me off is when people drag her past back. It's gone and it won't change so stop talking about it. Only fools reach for the past including the ones who keep asking about it after she's made peace with it

Tina is the embodiment of thriving. She's a living, breathing Phoenix and I am honored to be a fan. Enjoy your retirement and your hubby.

Tina Turner really had it all: looks, charisma, class, talent & work ethic. Don’t get many singers that have all that now.

I didn’t realize how bad the abuse was... I had seen the movie when I was a kid but I didn’t think much of it at the time. But looking back at it now it’s crazy that absolutely no one around them knew what was going on.

That’s because she lied. They were traveling all over the world. Television Magazines and newspapers. You’ve never seen a single bruise swelling or scratch on her.

The Queen of rock and roll she deserve that title over and over the last thing we can do for her know is to vote for her to get into the rock and roll hall of fame, she should have been there as a solo artist years ago, what a shame that she is not there yet so vote people we've got until the end of April to vote for Tina, god bless her...
