Cabin in the Woods has one of the best scenes in modern horror. Near Dark classic vamp film. Raft scene, enough said. Rented Session 9 at the video store back in the day and found a gem. Behind the Mask is such a great hidden gem, I need the mask for my collection. Stir of Echos shines in a world of too many ghost films. So many great horror films, it's so hard to make favs lists. The legend of Cropsey is actually real - we grew up with it in Bronx House Sleepaway Camp in the late 80s early 90s. I'd spend half the summer at the sleepaway camp and half the summer at their day camp. It's Actually based on a real dude who was a handyman at a hospital for troubled kids - and it turns out he was killing them and burying them out back I believe. I THINK that was in Long Island or Staten Island. His name was Cropsey. But the counselors used to scare us around the camp fire with tales of Cropsey. And what made it even scarier was that the head counselor looked just like the head counselor from Friday the 13th part II who tells them about Jason around the campfire lol. Scared the crap out of us at 10 or 11 years old.
