Pretty sure Kathmandu was overwhelming, and shocking at first but thanks for embracing its cultures and chaos with open mind and not being judgmental about it.

Tibetan singing bowls are in reality has no Tibetan connection to the origin of it. The name was coined to gain marketing of it as Tibetan by nature are highly religious especially the first wave of Tibetan refugees came in 1959 and 1960s. There is a significant number of Tibetan refugees in Nepal and most prominent Buddhist monasteries, temples and Lamas are either Tibetan or associated with Tibetan.

@@travelwithfawn I don't know but this myth originated in Nepal. Nepalese especially the Newari are great Artisan and as such Tibetans have been employing Nepali artist over thousand years ago when Nepal princess married Tibetan king in 7AD. The two Buddha statues called as Jowo in Tibet are gift as a dowry of Nepalese and Chinese princess who married Tibetan King Songsten Gampo in 7AD. These two Buddha statues are considered as most sacred statues of Buddha in Tibet. Even today Nepali artisans are employed by Tibetan monasteries to make statues and other religious arts.
