Well I read the books and they are not that good honestly , the characters behave very irrationally, especially in the third book , and a lot of things happen because of pure luck or coincidence

I agree with so many of Matt's takes that him having GoT #35 is just baffling to me. Asoiaf is so wildly better than anything else I've ever read that it seems wacky that some random Wheel of Time or Mistborn book is going to be ranked higher than this. Series is just so goated

@@ifokser2816 wheel of time was so frustrating for me. I loved 7 of the first 8 books even though it was soooo repetitive and complex for me. Trying to pronounce all the names and words in my head was tedious. Surprisingly for me Lords of Chaos was AWFUL besides the last 50 pages yet its most people’s favorite book it seems. The next 4 books I just couldn’t get myself to even finish so I just read summaries then tried to read Brandon’s books and was pretty much too checked out to finish. :/ But I would definitely put the first 3 game of thrones books ahead of any book by Jordan. If Jordan’s books were significantly shorter I’d probably like them a lot more. All in my subjective opinion of course. It’s objective 😉

@@Kollman2812 everyone has their own tastes, it's true that for me volumes 1 and 3 of Got are the only ones at the same level as volume 4/11/12/14 of Wot in S, So obviously to hear that the average A Feast for Crows and the horrible A Dance with Dragons are better than this 4 of Wot is hilarious for me (I like Got but what I like in fiction is the characters and the story I'm being told and Wot are better on both points (Martin will never write a character at the same level as Rand in his story even if he finished it)

@@quintonbrown1996 yes I basically answered what I thought of Got and Wot with another person in your comments but obviously I can never repeat it enough "Wot is not for everyone" Jordan writes too much either we love it or we hate it but when we love it we realize the perfection of its story whether in the foreshadowing, the characters, the journey etc. For me, you might as well stop reading as look at summaries, otherwise what would be the point of reading fiction books if instead of drawing magic from them you drew lifeless data from them but I understand that you were no longer interested All in my subjective opinion of course. WOT with malazan (and many series are better than Got) It’s objective 😉

It is my favorite of the two books so far and I was kind of shocked to find myself feeling that way. At the point that I am right now, knowing that I only have 1⅓ books left to wrap up this story, I have no idea what's going to happen next! 😂 Things have gotten SO BLEAK, for so many characters ... I really need one of our POV characters to have some *small* win. I'm definitely forging ahead. I intend to read The Lonesome Crown immediately after finishing The Blackest Heart.
