Gotye is the most iconic case of a one-hit-wonder who came to hate what made him a one-hit-wonder. Many people think he vanished after “Somebody I Used to Know,” but he actually continued to make music after the song. “Somebody I Used to Know” was just so iconic that it overshadowed everything else he did in his career.

@MegaRekless

In fairness, he kinda did vanish. People were aching to hear what he was going to make after his solo project featuring "Somebody I Used to Know" blew up, then he immediately retired releasing music under Gotye and I believe is the drummer for an obscurer band now. I'm happy that he's sticking to doing what he likes.
