Using 2 limiters is better in my opinion because you're compressing the beat with the first limiter (I use Fruity Limiter for that and keep that in mind that don't keep your mix loud, keep 808s at -9db max, -12db for the claps and snares, -6db for the kick, -18 to -21db for the melody and -18 to -21db for the hats). You just take the attack, release, sustain, ceiling and saturation knob down, it'll hit harder, trust me. With the second limiter (I use Ozone 9 for it) you just adjust the volume (make sure the waveforms don't reach the ceiling. Thank me later

whats the difference with turning up the EQ on the 808 and the precomputed effects boost?
@dro2geeked903

the boost turns up the gain/volume, while the eq makes certain frequencies sticks out

I've gat 2 questions what's that you do to the 808 sample that kinda makes it slimmer, cause I use Reaper not FL studio and that effect is not available in reaper so I'd like to know what exactly you do to it to reduce the size and make thinner. And my second question is that my 808 sounds good on headphones but on my laptop and phone it sounds whack how do I resolve this. Thanks.

i’ve seen a lot of producers say you have to change the key of the 808 inside the little piano roll when u right click the 808 is this true because when i try it it sounds muddy
@SUPERIORPRODUCEDIT
3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the 808 if the 808 sounds off it’s probably a different key than C but spinz is the most common and it’s in C so you don’t have to do anything to the spinz

Just turn the beat down in the recording program. It's all about leveling.
