The 80’s were the best years! Just anything in general was at its peak in the 80’s. To me, nothing beats Stand By Me. It’s not just a teen movie, it’s about boys learning very difficult yet valuable life lessons. Through it all, they stood by each other as friends. That’s why the film is called, Stand By Me.

Living through my childhood in the 80's I never really thought about how many wonderful teen movies came out during that decade. I just enjoyed them as they came along and it was just natural. It wasn't until I became an adult and I looked back on that period that I realized how special a time that was for these kind of movies. I literally enjoyed almost all of the movies on this Top 20 list, including the honorable mentions, that could have easily been part of the 20 list.

The 80s were the Golden Age of the teen movies. While certain aspects of them haven't aged well, they have a certain charm that you can't ignore. While teen movies are still being made, they just don't hit the same as the 80s-the 2000s did.

Legend of billy jean shouldve been on there. Great 80s teen flick. And the roger waters film hairspray. Or dream a little dream.

I Love Legend of Billy Jean. It is so underrated and made us all think Helen and Christian were brother and sister in real life. Was Dream a Little Dream in 91? Great movie

@shannonbriscoe5350 yes, I randomly sing songs from that soundtrack til this day! Granted my musical taste haven't grown too far since the late 90s, early 2000s.

I watched this whole video and was so disappointed when I realized "The Breakfast Club" was number 1. I just have never been a huge fan of that movie. I think I like almost EVERYTHING on this list more.
