“Fireflies” and “Stacy’s Mom” are two great songs that will always remain timeless. However, I must give kudos to you for including songs from both volumes of your “Most Hated Songs” lists: “The Ketchup Song” from Volume 1, and “Who Let the Dogs Out” from Volume 2. He was also invited to sing it on the show at the end of the season Look what the publicity & airplay on AI did for this song. It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, Adult Top 40 and Adult Contemporary charts, making Powter the first solo Canadian male artist to top the Hot 100 since Bryan Adams in 1995. Stating my mind space before anyone reads this thinking I'm coming from a defensive or hateful place) "Fireflies" is fantastic, and deserves all the love it has earned. I do not agree it's cheesy. I do not agree with it being a guilty pleasure. It might've been bad or dumb with any other artist, but 🦉 🌆's vocals give the song a genuine sweetness & innocence that give off a more wonderous vibe to ease a more cynical heart like my own. Maybe I'm alone in this, but "Fireflies" is far from *cheesy* . 😜☺️

I just made my own comment defending Adam. I don’t have any clue what they mean by cheesy. Adam has always written his songs with a deceptively major-key/calming accompaniment. I guess it’s because his lyrics are child friendly…? Although my parents were wary because his themes are sometimes more mature. Before he invented Owl City, imagine Adam screaming at the top of his lungs over the same kind of music about depression!

Personally, I'm really glad we're past that post-grunge voice nearly every artist did from the late 90s through early 00s.

I'm kinda surprised that "Just The Girl" by The Click Five isn't on the list and maybe for a good reason. This song is truly a cheesy boy band song for it's time and a dated and quite forgettable one at that.

Let Me Love You was Marios biggest hit, but he wasn't a one hit wonder. If i recall correctly he also has other moderate successful singles which charted on Billboard 100 like How Do I Breathe, Just Friends 2002, Crying Out For Me, How Could You, and Break Up.

Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! Growing up in the 80s and the 90s, the silliest trait the kids had back then was how they wanted others to look at them as cool kids because they were listening to certain songs. 🤣

This is why I'm Hot used to be my ringtone when I was in college. My boyfriend at the time (now husband) is named Wyatt & my mom used to really dislike him. One time when we were having lunch together my phone rang, & the song began to play. My mom was totally confused & said "what is that? Who's calling you? Is that wyatt?" I laughed & said, no why would you assume he's the one calling? She said "isn't your phone saying This is Wyatt Wyatt?" 😂😂 She thought the song was singing "this is Wyatt wyatt." Ever since then I can't unhear "this is wyatt wyatt" whenever that song comes on. 😂
