To be able to sell yourself during an interview is one the best quality's to have. I've been fired over 250 times for various things ranging from harassment to tardiness. But pro to being fired over 250 times is that I was able to get hired 250 times. Con's to this is that I wasn't happy with my career at the time. So the jobs wasn't paying shit to begin with. But in the process I became a great interviewee. I can sell the shit out of my skill set at the drop of a dime

I like to know if somebody has the answer for this question that really took me off from the recruitment process, the guy asked why an user connected to the company using VPN connection the VPN connetion is up even when his internet connection is completely down? I still don't know the answer
@Cobuman
6 жыл бұрын
+Freddy Moya I wonder if he meant after user connected through VPN then his internet went down... If so, that just means that company's proxy is blocking internet access. I would have asked him to clarify. But, it does sound like a confusing question.
@fredmoya704
6 жыл бұрын
according what I understood to the questions is that the remote PC lost its local internet connection (home internet) but its VPN was still up and working? so I'm wondering how a remote PC is able to keep connected to the company if the local internet went down? I said that maybe the remote PC had an internet backup line but the recruiter said that the PC is only connected to 1 internet line. that's what I don't understand?
@Cobuman
6 жыл бұрын
When you connect through VPN there are dedicated VPN servers that allow you to connect. The VPN servers allow connection to company's local network regardless to its status in relation to other networks. Meaning, company's local network is separate from other networks (in this case "internet' is another/separate network). So, if remote computer has lost internet it will be totally separate from your VPN connection. Of course, you must have internet/external connection to VPN/reach any other network outside your own.
@fireeye1990
6 жыл бұрын
I got curious too about the original question. does it mean that the user is using the internal network. I mean do we have an INTERNET connection to use the VPN if we are in the company's network already?
@Cobuman
6 жыл бұрын
Yes, once you connect using VPN you will have INTERNET through company's network. *Below are steps of what happens when you connect through VPN.* 1. At home you are connected to INTERNET with your computer. 2. Using VPN software you create a tunnel between your computer and company's network. *3. You are now connect and part of company's network (INTRANET and INTERNET).* 4. Your computer now is browsing INTERNET on company's network as if you were there physically. Company's network uses a proxy server to filter traffic.

Recently had a phone interview. They asked me two questions you guys should add to your list... 1.) How do you map a folder to a server? 2.) If a user's thumb drive is working at home, but not at work, what could be the issue?
@Cobuman
8 жыл бұрын
+fatalradius Good stuff. Thank you for very much. answers: 1. You can map a folder by adding the server name followed by the folder name i.e; *\\server address\folder name*. This can be done through windows explorer (map a network drive) or CMD command *net use* followed by drive letter then *\\server address\folder name*. I have a video about this as well: kzitem.info/news/bejne/wImatpiBk3pyp3Y 2. If a thumb drive does not work at your job it is mostly likely because it requires an encryption used by the company or its function is disabled by the group policy that your account belongs to... Brings back memories. If you want to really impress your potential employer when they ask you "what do you know about our company" dig in to their 10k filings for the past 3 to 5 years (it's public info) and get a graph going along with their competitors and how your employment with them could help build and edge on the competition. That is going to raise their eye brows for sure. Watch their looks you'll see what am talking about. These are all good questions. Also, on the question of the printer not printing well don't discard a loose cable also. It happen to me too. Happy hunting and all the best!!!!

Not so sure about your DNS explanation. DNS (Domain Name System) is the system that translates an IP address to a domain name... (example 8.8.8.8 = google-public-dns-a.google.com). DNS does not covert binary machine code to an IP address.

Man, the was possibly the first actually painful video I've ever watched, you are so dang quiet I had to max out my volume to understand you, and then every advertisement I would have to quickly yank my headphones out because they are kept at a reasonable level

Good help for newbies - but too many obstructive pop-ups which are surplus to requirements. Thanks none the less Cuboman!
