Although there is one thing that bugs me…his last name. It’s an Ashkenazi Jewish sounding surname and some people on TVTropes suggested he’s a descendant of a Converso but Conversos were more of a Sephardic identity so he can’t be a Converso. It’s a shame that Treasure Planet is underrated because Silver is a very relatable villain and important character. He becomes a surrogate father to Jim, despite being the reason he and his mother lose their home and having false motives for the voyage, when Jim’s spent his teen years without a father. Plus, I love having a disabled character and how they address it, showing how people can judge those who are different, but Silver is still capable of doing things and I love the animation with his mechanical arm and the many features it has. That representation is perfect

Gothel ended up on this list?? Ok, I'm sure we're all totally against kidnapping an infant girl from her parents who has magic rejuvinating powers in her hair, but isolating Rapunzel in a tower for 18 years of her life via Stockholm Syndrome still is an inexcusable crime and in no way "relatable". 4:27 While Stinky Pete nearly convinced Woody about staying with him and the Roundup Gang in the Japan toy museum because they would be loved and adored, it would have been really worse for them. Given that museums have security cameras to avoid any kind of theft, this means that the Roundup Gang would have been forced to never move ever again. Of course, given his hatred towards children, Stinky Pete would have easily gone through with this but not his friends, serving this as an example of his extreme selfishness. IDK, to be honest I always felt like the reason Gantu was fired is because he kidnapped/endangered a child. So he wasn't fired for trying to do the job he was asked to do, he was fired for going outside the bounds of the law and morality in order to do said job (which essentially amounted to him causing an interplanetary incident). Especially considering that the Galactic Federation seems to have something similar to the Prime Directive, which Gantu's actions probably violated.

13:55 In medieval culture, an event like a royal christening is not a private party; it’s the public social event of the year. To not invite any person of rank to such an event is a deadly insult. Maleficent is certainly someone you wouldn’t want at a party, but she’s also someone powerful enough that only a fool would ever dare treat her with such blatant disrespect. The only way the King and Queen could possibly have gotten away with not inviting Maleficent was to not invite any of the fairies at all; inviting the other fairies and excluding her is explicitly taking sides in the conflict between the fairy factions. Which means they made themselves her sworn enemies, and she responded by treating them as such from then on. If you actually get into analyzing the social dynamics of the scene, it’s very clear that Maleficent was willing to show mercy at first by giving the King and Queen a chance to apologize for their disrespect to her. She doesn’t curse Aurora until after she gives them that chance and they throw it back in her face with further disrespect. And yeah, if the King and Queen had done the properly respectful thing and invited her, Maleficent would have given Aurora a scary awesome present. Moreover so would the other fairies, because at that point both sides would be using it as an opportunity to show off and one-up each other. What they gave her before Maleficent showed up was basically just trivial party favors by fairy standards.

And Benedict just wanted to improve the school system and couldn't see any other way but to get rid of Recess to do so. He also got fired and his best friend was behind it; imagine if that happened to you. Oh, what's that? You don't have sympathy for them? It's indicated in the movie that Yzma has tried to rule in Kuzco's place several times before the movie began. I'm not trying to sympathize with Kuzco's actions, I'm just saying it wasn't just once.

I actually don't blame Kuzco for firing Yzma, but I also don't blame Pacha for insisting Kuzcotopia be built elsewhere. That's so little to ask of such a powerful world leader.

191: Unlike other villains but I do sympathize Edgar Balthazar. I get it that The Aristocats is a classic movie but I find it ridiculous. Money for cats? What would they do for the money?

See, that's another reason Edgar is kind of an idiot. He'd be the cats' guardian, so he'd be in control of the money anyway.

When I’m not invited to something fun, I do become Maleficent. I can’t curse people though.

Last I checked in Greek Mythology, Hades is Older than Zues. In fact the oldest of his sibling gods and goddesses.

Is he? I thought it went Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera.

@@bbsy1 Nope. Zeus is the baby of the family (he was the only one of them who their father didn't eat).

Discovering just exactly what an elephantine shitbag James Woods is IRL has soured me on a LOT of roles he's had that I enjoyed or found relatable in some way, especially Hades. I'm always immediately drawn to sarcastic characters (Garfield and Slappy Squirrel are my spirit animals), but I just can't enjoy Hades anymore.

Actually, in Greek mythology, Zeus was the youngest brother. Both Poseidon, and Hades were older than he was.
