Honestly out of all these ppl on this list, I feel the most bad for Natasha Exelby. She made an honest mistake by zoning out. When we watched that part on live tv for the first time, we would’ve just assumed that it was part of the broadcast to add some humor. Instead of just firing her on the spot, they should’ve either rolled with it or pulled her aside afterwards and simply told her not to zone out like that in the future. Then when he came out with a book criticizing everyone at ABC including his long time Boss Roone Arledge, then he was fired. When he does that cranky old man thing about non-Canadians, only sissies wear face shields, French Canadians suck it's the least of his problems. Hating gays, loving Rob Ford, telling immigrants who fought for Canada what a poppy is was too much. His wife dies and 4 months later he's dating, then marries a woman 25 years younger. He creates Rose's House in 1997 in honor of Rose but it doesn't open for another 7 years, then he loses interest in it 3 years later. I started watching The Talk semi regularly beginning with 2021-22 season. I was aware of Sharon Osbourne's comments. I was frustrated with what she said. When the series returned with the later season, I was unaware Jerry O'Connell took Sharon's former seat. He and the current panel got me psyched on the CBS series.

I'm not at all a Lara Logan fan, however, I feel it remiss not to mention she went through a horrifyingly traumatic experience reporting on the Arab Spring, and I think her inability to work through that trauma in therapy (sometimes therapy just fails--some baggage carries heavier than others) ruined her unbiased perspective, and led her into the far-right. I hope, some day, she heals.

I'm no fan of the Bush family, but I felt kind of bad for Billy Bush. Some folks, in spite of themselves, might let a nervous laugh escape when they are interviewing a (supposedly) important public figure and said figure says something that no one in the room is comfortable with (save for the asshole making the statement.) That was a case being penalized for another person's crime (a crime we now know Mr. Trump committed on multiple occasions.)

I remember watching Jimmy The Greek saying those ridiculous racist lies about the physicality of Black athletes. I was a 20 something Black athlete. It sounded so crazy all i could do was laugh. I knew the moment he stopped talking he was out of a job. You can find it easy on KZitem.
@squarebear619

He wasn't lying. During Chattel Enslavement, they would purposely sxually assault and impregnate Blck Americans to get better physical traits. It's nothing new either and has been done historically, especially in various other types of Enslavement to get certain looks/features. It is why Blck Americans are genetically predisposed to be bigger, stronger, etc. Now, his and others' jealous racism over it definitely stems from the freedom of those formerly enslaved and the end of Reconstruction, thus entering the Blck Codes and Jim Crow. It is why Blck people are hypersexualized and fetishized. You'll not find anybody more obsessed over BBC than a yt male followed pretty evenly with yt women.

One of the most surreal job-threatening scenarios was that in which a local newscaster (I'm not sure which state he was from) bizarrely insisted on live air that the world was being invaded by ants from outer space, and that he would "welcome [the] new insect overlords". He then cheerfully offered to conscript people to "toil in [the ants'] underground sugar caves". Of course, this incident doesn't belong on this video because the newscaster in question retained his job for many years to come following a rather irregular on-air apology, but I felt it warranted mention all the same.

They were trying to keep up with The View. You either get a good agent who gets your foot in the door or the show's producers find someone they think the audience will like. Why does the camera keep cutting to Dr. Phil's wife? She either nagged him to be on the show or he wanted it that way. It sounds stupid but usually it really is that simple.

The shitty thing about the Billy Bush incident is that you could throw almost any entertainment reporter in his situation and the same thing is going to happen. Their job is the smile and nod and keep the star talking, and that’s what he was doing. Obviously Trump is a creep, but I imagine that he would not have said shit like that if people don’t encourage him by agreeing or not saying that is wrong.
@mm-ks3pr

I disagree. Bush was being deceptive and unethical. Trump didn't know he was being recorded and I'm sure he wouldn't have given permission for that to be released. This reminded me of that Connie chung incident. Only difference is that the media wasn't so far gone in that era, they were still able to realize that chung stepped over the line.
