Thanks for the video! My wife and I are considering staying on an Airbnb near the Catedral de Barcelona (two blocks south) in the Gothic Quarter. Is that area safe to walk at night? We'll be there the last week of April and we just want to stay on a zone in which we'll be able to walk late at night and explore different restaurants and bars. I'd appreciate any suggestions or insights! Thanks!

Hi Stuart, thrilled to hear about your plans! Staying near the Catedral de Barcelona in the Gothic Quarter is a great choice. This area is generally safe for night time walks, offering a vibrant atmosphere with plenty of restaurants and bars to explore. Just keep standard safety precautions in mind as you would in any city center. Thanks for watching our video, feel free to reach out if you need more tips or suggestions. Hi , I will be in Barcelona in May How far is Eixample neighborhood to Gothic Quarter? Iam planning on staying in one of these neighborhoods. I want to see all the Guadi sites in Eixample but like the idea of staying in Gothic Quarter. Love you videos and just subscribed

Hi Veronica, Thanks for subscribing, it's lovely to know that you are enjoying our videos - thank you so much for your support! Barcelona is such a vibrant city, and both the Eixample and Gothic Quarter are fantastic choices for your stay, each with their own unique charm. The Eixample district, renowned for its stunning modernist architecture and home to several of Gaudí's masterpieces, including the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, and La Pedrera, is a bit spread out but offers a wonderful glimpse into the city's artistic heritage. On the other hand, the Gothic Quarter, with its narrow medieval streets, bustling squares, and historic sites, offers a completely different experience, steeped in history and culture. Distance-wise, Eixample and the Gothic Quarter are quite close to each other, typically around a 20 to 30-minute walk depending on where exactly you're starting and ending. Public transport in Barcelona is also very efficient, with metro and bus options that can reduce this travel time significantly. If your primary interest lies in exploring Gaudí's works, staying in Eixample might be more convenient for you. However, if you're captivated by the idea of immersing yourself in the historical ambiance of Barcelona, then the Gothic Quarter could be the perfect fit. Both neighbourhoods offer easy access to each other and the rest of the city's major attractions, so you'll have a wonderful experience regardless of where you choose to stay. Enjoy your trip to Barcelona, and if you have any more questions or need tips for your visit, feel free to ask. Safe travels! ✈ - Desi

There's so many things you can do while staying in areas that are known for pickpocketing. Here are our top suggestions... ▶️ Use a Money Belt or Hidden Pouch: Keep your valuables, such as cash, passport, and cards, in a hidden pouch or money belt under your clothing. Our favourite is this: amzn.to/3OJL87e ▶️ Minimize Valuables: Only carry what you need. Leave unnecessary items like expensive jewelry, extra credit cards, and excessive cash at your accommodation. ▶️ Use Secure Bags: Opt for bags with zippers, clasps, or locks, and wear them across your body. Crossbody bags are harder to snatch than shoulder bags. ▶️ Stay Aware: Pay attention to your surroundings and the people around you. Pickpockets often target distracted or unaware individuals. ▶️ Don't Flash Valuables: Refrain from displaying expensive items like smartphones, cameras, or designer items in public. It can attract unwanted attention. ▶️ Use Anti-Theft Accessories: Consider using accessories like slash-resistant bags, lockable zippers, or bags with RFID-blocking technology to prevent electronic theft. Anti-Theft Cross Body Bag: amzn.to/45d4Fnz Anti-Theft Backpack: amzn.to/44iUZGO ▶️ Keep Copies: Make photocopies or digital scans of important documents like your passport, ID, and credit cards. Store them separately from the originals. Hope these tips help, we have lots more but they're the most important in our eyes!

Q : La Barcelonita and Poble Nou are same name of one area in Barcelona??? Whats the difference between them???
@pizzaipinya2442

Barceloneta and Poblenou are one next to the other but are not the same neighbourhood. Barceloneta in the one close to the port and Ciutat Vella, while after the Vila Olímpica you can find Poblenou, a mich more modern neighboirhood mixing some modern architecture with classic mix-used blocks, due to it being next to the new bussiness development areas and being not fully built before the Olympics took place in 1992. This was a cery summarized explanation and I've left out lots of things, but I think I could explain the point xd. They're similar in that they're close to one another and they have beach, that's it :)

Hi Clarissa! I booked a stay by Placa Catalunya. I thought this was in Bari Gotic. Is this a good, central spot? Also, what is the location of the courtyard at 1:48 & at 2:01 times of your video? Thanks in advance. Caroline.

Hi Caroline! It's great to hear about your trip plans. Just a heads up, there are actually a few Plaça Catalunyas in Barcelona, but they are all located outside the central areas. The courtyard you saw in our video at 1:48 is Plaça Reial. We always stay near Plaça Reial when we visit Barcelona - it's a fantastic central spot in the Gothic Quarter and we highly recommend it. If you're looking for accommodation suggestions around there, feel free to reach out and we can send some recommendations your way. Safe travels! - The Travels Unfiltered Team ✈️

Barcelona is known for pickpockets. If you are careful with your belongings, and are aware of your surroundings youll be fine! Just with all travelling watch out for people around you and invest in some theft proof bags/pouches/belts etc.
