I'm opening up about three significant mistakes that have cost me thousands of dollars over my 15-plus years in business.
Choosing the wrong opportunity vehicle. This lesson hits close to home, as I've learned from industry experts like Alex Hormozy and Russell Brunson. Russell once shared a story about a fellow entrepreneur who had a fantastic sales process and multiple locations but was advised by Russell to rethink his strategy. He had a level ten skill set but was utilizing it in a level six opportunity vehicle. This resonated with me deeply, as I've navigated my own journey from owning a gym to exploring e-commerce and lead generation. It's crucial to align your skills with the right opportunities for success.
Next up is the trap of saying yes to everything. Guilty as charged. I've fallen into this trap myself, thinking that expanding into complementary ventures would double my revenue. In reality, spreading myself too thin only diluted my focus and drained resources. Learning to prioritize core business activities has been key to maintaining sustained growth.
Lastly, trying to do everything myself was a massive stumbling block. I had to learn the hard way that delegation is essential for business growth. It took some time to relinquish control and trust capable individuals to handle specialized tasks, but it's made all the difference in scaling my ventures.
