I run a lot of dnd, and this is the perfect system for taking notes. You need to be quick with it, since a lot happens very quickly, and the obscurity makes it so the players don't read something they're not supposed to

I studied Gregg shorthand back in 1993 and absolutely loved it! I need to get back into it. My favorite part of learning it was the brief forms. They are so much fun to write and time savers!

I haven't used shorthand since 1985, but I'd like to learn again. Thank you for posting this.

I took shorthand in high school and did use it when I worked in advertising. I still take notes in it and have kept my books.

I am familiar, though by no means proficient, with Korean, Japanese, and even Chinese style of writing. Shorthand just strikes me as very poorly written cursive writing. For the effort, I rather learn a foreign language and actually be understood by a larger group, (and understand as well).

@@pauljensen5699to hold the view that shorthand is just poorly written cursive, is to completely misunderstand the entire point of shorthand. It is NOT in any way cursive writing. It is stenography, not calligraphy. The main goal is to have the hand match the speed of the mind. I have often faced the cumbersome problem of my mind running off with ideas that my hand could never hope to catch up and I forget. With this, I can keep pace. The result? Fast, coherent, organized, and easily perceptible process of thought right in the page.

@@lamalamalex Gregg in particular is pretty calligraphic in nature. It’s like a Spencerian sister script.
