Holy fuck, I'm newish to fishing and you're the first KZitem angler ice found that actually explains things. Everyone else just says, "This is the rig, now watch this edit of me casting and catching". This makes you the first angler I've actually subbed to. Thanks and keep it up

I have heard countless people swear by the ned rig but have never fished one myself until yesterday. I went out to my local pond where I have been skunked the last 3 times I have been out put on a ned rig and within the first 20 minutes I had caught 3 decent sized largemouth. I am a believer. It works just fish it slow and they will bit.

This is the best video I have found for how to just catch bass. most videos are all about BIG bass and odd techniques but this video shows how to just catch bass. if you go out and get the stuff for these 4 rigs and you fish them, you will catch a ton of bass. Thanks Nick! You were the first ever youtuber I watched (you taught me and my dad to bass fish) and your my absolute favorite KZitemr! You also inspired me to make my own youtube channel and got me back into making videos when I met you at the 2018 B.A.S.S Master Classic and you subscribed to me channel :) Keep it up nick!

Great video! I saw another where they put the hook slightly under the "skin" of the lure and then was told to push the barb through the "skin" and then put it back in, so it is kind of the best of both worlds. I guess something could be said about this possibly messing with the motion of the lure...

Love the wacky worm, but on a baitcaster 10 lb line. Still, today was in the 30s but went kayak fishing anyway and fished with the spinning rod 6 lb line. Just don't like the feel of it but fished anyway. Nothing. Went to my baitcaster and just felt at home much more in feel. Finally caught an 18" 2 1/2 lb smallmouth. Did what you said, just reel in the hook and lean into it. Thanks man.

great instructional video up to the information on the use of the ned rig...ned rig uses a flat jig head with a floating 2 1/2 to a 3 inch piece of plastic bait like a piece of floating worm...Z-man has kind of cornered the market on the ned rig...also normally uses lighter weights like 1/5 oz...ned rig is designed for lots of fish, not big fish...anyway that's what the big boys down at the boat ramp said...

When is a ball weight good for a drop shot?
@peterwebster8162
7 жыл бұрын
I use a stick weight when I'm fishing around rocks because it's less likely to get snagged. I use a ball weight when there isn't a risk to get snagged bc I think it gives me much better feel to keep contact w/the bottom. Just my 2 cents.

Thx Nick for this good video. For dropshot fishing in winter here in central calif, what do u think for the length of the tag end with the weight? 6 inches? I like fishing ned rig and dropshot at lake amador from the bank, if your familiar with this lake its full of slate type of rocks, so i lose a lot of bottom contact plastic baits, like ned rig and dropshot, shaky head...Do u have any advise for a bank fisherman on lake amador with all the rock snags?

I recently bought my first spinning reel to throw senkos and try drop shot rigs. I ended up spooling on 10 pound fluorocarbon. Will this be ok for drop shot rigs? I bought 10 because I figured it would be a good middle ground for when I’m throwing senkos around structure. I’m almost to the point where I’m going to start using mono due to the dang price and superior abrasion resistance haha.

i fish castaic lake and its lagoon. im not lying almost every fish i have caught out of that lake is on well i do a diff type of drop shot. i do a dropper loop. with either just hooking the head of worm or wacky rigged and it always scores. i have put in lots of time here using a lot of other baits also. ive missed a couple top waters seen a few chasers that just wouldnt commit to other baits but ya but i will say most of the times i do get out to fish are the times that arent considered prime time. i still want my first top water fish and first swimbait fish ect. but after skunking so much with those baits throughout the year ect i tend to always fall back to the dropshot after like a hour of trying other things. also working the dropper loop/drop shot set up i also learned to work it through all the water columns ect and have caught fish working it fast midway down and even had a few blow up on the banks on it working it real slow last 10 yards out. nice vid like always later
