The Dorabella Cipher by the famous British composer Edward Elgar has resisted decryption for over 120 years. He sent his coded message to Miss Dora Penny, the person depicted in Variation X (Dorabella) from the Enigma Variations. Elgar's cipher consists of 87 curlicue symbols dispersed over three rows followed by the date "July 14 [18]97". There are also four conspicuous dots, one above the sixth character in row three, and three more in the date. Elgar wrote the key to translating his symbols into letters in a notebook. Experts contend this notebook key generates a random series of letters. However, the transcription starting at the dotted symbol in row three generates "E D U". That is Elgar's pseudonym used as the title of his musical self-portrait (E. D. U.) in the Enigma Variations. If the so-called experts failed to spot something so obvious, what else have they overlooked? Incredibly, they failed to detect five discrete Spanish words in the cleartext. The presumption Elgar's coded missive is confined to English is demonstrably fallacious. enigmathemeunmasked.blogspot.com/2022/02/spotting-spanish-in-elgars-dorabella.html

Tbh, I’m not sure :) At first I thought A1Z26 but number 47 eliminates it. It could also be Ascii but the decoded result is meaningless. So what is it?
