I like to think that racquets have a certain DNA. The Ezone 98 is a power racquet in its nature-stiff, thick beamed, aerodynamic beam. But it is a *controlled* power frame. The TFight 305 is a control frame, but a powerful one because its weight distribution makes it an absolute hammer. I tend to prefer powerful control racquets rather than controlled power racquets because I grew up playing with control racquets before I knew anything about gear, so they feel more familiar and a better fit for how I know how to play.

My guy, as an avid lover of Gravity Pro I think you might appreciate the Gravity MP XL -- it is amazing. You need to demo and do a review on it. It feels much longer than it is, gives some free power and serve feels like a cheat code. Game changer.

I demoed it two weeks ago and yeah, serves were insane. Like, the best I’ve ever done and consistent. I thought maybe I was just in a groove and went to the other two demo racquets and then my normal one and it wasn’t near the same. I picked the MP XL back up and instantly was back to bombing serves. Ultimately, I didn’t like the rest the racquet had to offer but serves were incredible. So much so that I’m demoing other extended frames to see if it had the same effect. I’m just waiting on the Solinco ones to not be back ordered so they will ship.

I have used the Ezone for the last two years. Great frame but you are right about the power and it is easy to hit long at times. I have just changed to the Percept 100 and am loving it. So much more control and feel and decent level of spin. It was an easy transition as the specs are quite similar. Really cant see me going back to my Ezone as the Percept seems to suit me better.

It is hilarious how often the internet viewer gets into the right or wrong side of a viewpoint. I think it would be a more fun discussion to say agree or disagree with the viewpoint. I loved your balanced racquet list. Currently using the speed pro and enjoy the blend of control/power it gives me. Out of all the Head pro/tour frames in the line up, the speed pro sits in the most user friendly on that list. Please agree or disagree with me on the viewpoints. 😅

I've been playing tennis for 2 years with a second-hand Yonex E-Zone 100. Today, I learned my strings lost tension, which explains the lack of power in my shots. After trying my coach's racquet(head radical 98 sq inch), I was blown away by the improvement and now feel like I want a frame with a smaller head.

I used 90 sq/in rackets through high school and college and 9 years ago I moved up to a 95 sq/in Pro Staff (95S) and it is 16/15 string pattern and it gives me massive topspin. I don’t think head size has much to do with spin. Also, if you ever get the chance to hold a 100 racket up next to a 95 racket please let me know where the 5 extra sq/in’s are. The 100 was maybe half a centimeter wider than mine. When I hear people saying there is a big difference between the 98 and 100 I just shake my head.

I transitioned from an upspeced Blade 18/20 and instantly played well with it. All shots were just as deep but way harder with more spin. And yes, pls do a Phantom review as so many others ask for. NOTHING tops the iso 305 as a middle ground racket. It's magic with the head heavy, high swingweight and tremendous spin (More power and spin than the ezone and pure strike with a freaking 18 x 19 string pattern) . Ezone 98 is almost a piece of shit when compared to it ( Ok, the serve is better with the zone) but other than that no racquet comes close is ground strokes. The feel is heavenly. If you want a racquet like Djokovic, blindly get the iso 305. Its not a 95 like joker's racquet but its damn close to anything on the market.
