Hey thank you Raghavan Kodoth! Be careful when stretching out your steps during walking. That might be tensioning the nerves in your calf muscle and causing your pain when walking. Hey April 👋! We're terribly sorry to hear about you dealing with lumbar arthritis and lymphedema, we can only imagine the pain that you experience. We are unable to answer your question with 100% certainty but in a lot of cases, generally speaking exercise could help with moving lymph through the lymphatic system. With that being said, it's of most importance to listen to your body and make sure that the exercises aren't causing you pain or worsening your condition. Just in case you haven't see our playlist regarding hip arthritis, here is the link for you: “Hip Arthritis Help” kzitem.info/door/PLJVIPiFvv1mbICbP6qlXUZwMyAJlKD1dt We'd love to hear more about your progress 🙌

As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not. We wish you all the best on your road to recovery. 🧡 We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

Im an active 62 years old and enjoy walking but I also have planter fasciitis for most of my life which recently has been consistently painful for 10 months now. I had to stop walking for 3 months because the pain was unbearable. I started walking again but half as much as I used to walk. I’m now having knee pain. I have foot pain most of the day so I was recommended for plantar fasciitis surgery. I found your videos on therapy for painful knees and plantar fasciitis and have been incorporating them into my exercise routine including yoga. Your videos has help tremendously. I’ve gaining more and more pain free days now so I cancelled surgery which would have had me in a cast from knee to toe for 3 weeks. I appreciate you very much. Thank you. 🙏🦵🦶 ❤

One question about developing arthritis. If I have a complete ACL tear but I can walk, jog, climbing, going up stairs and train my leg without having pain even my Dr said you don't need surgery as your knee is stable. But do I also have the risk to develop arthritis? Please answer me. Thanks in advance. 🙏🙏🙏

Hey Halkawt Miuhamad! Great question! Everyone has a chance at developing arthritis, especially if there's been a history of previous injuries. We're glad that your doctor is NOT recommending surgery for you. So long as you can keep the pressures normal in your knee you can keep arthritis from becoming problematic for you. Think of arthritis like "rust" on metal. Dr. David explains it more in this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/um2OyaFogICnpmU

Hello Julie, sorry to hear about your ankle fractures :-( These may be beneficial for you as long as the bone has fully healed. We also have a great playlist if you are interested in learning more about the foot and ankle. Here is a link: "Foot & Ankle Help” kzitem.info/door/PLJVIPiFvv1mZDFBRPyY3f9Dumk_hjg8H8

I’ve got acl reconstructed surgery 5 yrs back. But I have intermittent pain in same knee whenever I walk more and get pain in the whole leg as well at times specially in the foot area. Unable to feel normal after the surgery. When pain increases I limp at times

Hey Priyanka! Sorry to hear about your continued knee pain :-( You likely have a muscle imbalance that the knee surgery won't address. How is your glute strength? Often glutes get weak when there is an ACL injury and quads are over dominant. I know you had surgery, but these videos would be helpful so that you can avoid having another ACL surgery: "How To Test & Heal A Torn ACL Without Surgery" kzitem.info/news/bejne/mZ2Zl2mJqqRmY6A “Can A Torn ACL Heal Without Knee Surgery” kzitem.info/news/bejne/xKh6q6yof5qqaYI

Thank you. I had noticed that when I walked in the park concentrating on using my glutes that my toes seemed to be gripping slightly and wondered if that was wrong!. My feet swell up during the day. Is it ok to do the heel raising exercise when they are swollen?
@epmanualphysicaltherapy
3 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome Beryl! Yes the toes should activate a bit when using the glutes while walking. If your feet swell up after you’ve been on your feet more then you likely need to do these calf exercises for help with that. You likely have muscle imbalances in your feet and ankles that are causing too much pressure in your foot joints. If you get swelling whether or not you’re on your feet then it may be related to your heart and lungs. Then this exercise may not help very much.

Is it ok to do these exercises if you have light pain behind the knee cap? Thank you for the video.
@epmanualphysicaltherapy
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ray, great question! It depends on how the knee cap pain behaves...if it doesn't linger after exercising, then it's likely ok to continue with these exercises. If the knee cap pain stays for 10+ minutes, and especially if it gradually gets worse the more you do the exercise, then absolutely stop doing this exercise.
