These are the 5 most useful power tools that every new homeowner should have in their shed. These @RYOBITOOLSUSA products are perfect gifts, whether it’s for Christmas, birthday or housewarming present for a young handyman, or handy woman.
And the best part is if you get them right now, they are all on sale. If you’re watching this video after the holidays, they are still the perfect gifts and I highly recommend them so let’s get started.
Toping my list is a gift that I got last year.
Charger
3 gallon wet dry vac. I paid full price for this 3 years ago and have gotten every penny’s worth out of it. It takes the 18 volt battery just like all the tools in this video. That means no cord to get in the way. It’s a little bigger than a shoe box, light weight and really powerful. I use it mostly to vacuum out the cars but it’s been in our flip houses, it sucked up baby vomit out of car seats. Just really versatile. Super easy to open and clean out. There’s also a way to convert it into a blower if you need to clear sawdust of your work bench or dry your hair. They have it listed at $99 for the 3 gallon but they also have a 1 gallon for $50. Get the 3 gallon. You’ll love it.
Next, my kids gave this to me for Father’s Day this year and it’s been amazing. It’s a 6 port battery charger with built in phone charger. I have a bunch of Ryobi tools and that means a lot of batteries. According to the specs this charges them 30% faster. I never timed it but I like seeing the red and green lights here. I never have to worrying about popping in a dead battery again.
This next tool might not be for everyone but it has been really useful in so many random occasions. It’s just called a multi tool and it really is just that. I’ve used it to cut out an entire house of wet drywall, trim baseboards and the bottom of door jams when we tile and install hardwood floors. I’ve also used it on PVC plumbing, and metal. These blades switch out very easy with a small Alan wrench that is tucked right in the handle of the tool. Ryobi has this tool on their website listed as Lowest Vibration in its Class.
For years I had been using a corded tools for all my small home projects. I haven’t replaced all of them yet but one that I regret not switching out sooner was my jig saw. You know how many times I almost chopped off the cord…like every time I used it. The variable speed trigger provides fast, precise cuts with and according to specs there’s 30% less vibration. Changing the Blade is quick and easy with this tool-free blade release. This jig saw is feature packed with 4 orbital settings, on board LED worklight. Best jig saw I have ever owned right here.
If you are in the market for a small light weight circular this adorable little thing might just put a smile on your face. It has a 5.5 inch blade and is perfect for cutting small lumber like thin plywood, cement board and underlayment. You can change the depth from one and 11/16 inches in depth and bevel it up to 50° if you wanna get fancy. Let me just be clear that this is not a circular saw that you’re gonna be using all the time. It will struggle to get through a 2 x 4. If you’re looking for something a little more beefy, they do make a little larger version at 7 1/4 that is also on sale right now. I’ve never used this so if you have it and like it let me know in the comments below. I have been eyeing up a larger circular saw for a while now just haven’t committed.
