If it was rated high in the past and not everyone keeps performing it, it should be rated high next quads as well.

A double front somersault is hands down more difficult than a double back somersault. But what makes the (unofficial) 2nd Biles vault scored higher are the ff: 1.) The Yurchenko entry 2.) The piked position (The Produnova is in tucked position which is scored lower than a piked) 3.) Legs glued together (do that to the Produnova and it will literally become the vault of death)

Generally front sommersault elements are rated higher from what I saw, because it's blind landing. Technically Produnova is front handspring with 2 forward saltos tucked, Biles II is round off , back handspring with 2 back saltos piked. On floor double back pike is rated D, double front tuck is rated E. So for vault situation the rule should be the same? But these two vaults are especially impressive, because these are probably only vaults with two sommersaults. Usually vaults include one stretched salto with twists. I think Produnova is technically more difficult than Biless II. Don't know if you're fan of gymnastics videos, but there is way more back tumbling (floor, beam, vault) than front tumbling. For me generally front tumbling is really underrated.

The Produnova is the most difficult as most gymnasts seldom performed it. None could land it cleanly other than the originator. Now there's no incentive for any gymnast to try it. Don't misunderstand me, I like her as an athlete and am fine with what she has done and is doing. I do get kind of annoyed when she is constantly cited as an example that gymnasts can be competitive on the elite level for much longer than they are, often when discussing American or other strongly competitive countries. If Simone or anyone else from any of the top countries wanted to compete as long as Chuso has on an elite level, they too would have to find a country with no gymnastics program willing to give them citizenship and have them compete for them. Just to be clear, I am not saying that Simone is in that situation. She is still highly competitive and one of the best artistic gymnasts in the world. I highly doubt she will try to keep competing elite for 30 years. I am just saying that if she did, like Chuso, she would have to find a non gymnasticly strong country to represent because she would not be able to train at the elite level required by a top program like USAG.

Why the hell do they need to mess with scoring to accommodate less skilled gymnasts? That in itself is prejudicial to the best in the world. Imagine if other sport organizations started doing that?! In what other sport is it ok to basically say to an athlete ‘that’s too dangerous so we’re going to down-score it’ or ‘you’re no longer allowed to compete that skill because it’s too dangerous’ or ‘your country’s athletes are too good because they keep winning, so we’re going to limit the number of athletes allowed to compete’. In my view, at best, it’s a form of cheating or judge-tampering of scores and at the end of the day, it’s blatant discrimination. The policy makers need to be reigned in! btw, I am not American, so there’s no bias here.
