Actually the Liquid Sonics Seventh Heaven basic version is just $69 and has a good amount of the presets and is a great start for those who want to get going on this verb! Great video, Pete thanks!

Oxford reverb is $318!!! Yikes! I love the interface a little better. The sliders are a bit better than knobs, but I would still rather use the Valhalla Vintage Verb, because it sounds amazing at just $50. Can't go wrong there.

Marcus Huyskens Music Hey Marcus, thanks brother! Yes, the Exponential stuff is fantastic! I've used them a teeny bit. They could easily be on this list, but I just don't own them. All these are plugins I own and am very familiar with 😉 Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻👌🏻

When you A-B the TSAR-1 it blows them all away and there's a very good reason why that is but I won't go into it now. I have the basic version which came free with my Clarett 4Pre Interface (it's only £80 new!) and it is simply stunning!
I use verb suit classic. But seventh heaven is more powerful. I compared both reverbs 10 times

@@Yertaiofficial When comparing just the two, yes for sure! There are less steps to getting a great sound with Seventh Heaven and that’s why it’s better. I’m gonna get Seventh Heaven primarily because it will speed up my workflow.

@@luvitluvitbaby They can get really close! I know this because de essing before reverb removes high frequencies and Soothe 2 is the prime candidate when it comes onto removing frequencies. A transient shaper before reverb can also help with percussive instrument. It eliminates that slapback transient pop sound you hear with percussions. Glad I could help!

Pete great video, but just a suggestion- For us home studio/ laptop guys with limited systems, maybe a note on each plugins CPU usage would be nice. "Back in the day" I spent some good cake for a MCDSP reverb only to find out I could barely run one instance of it before my system crashed.
@MixBetterNowTV

Jon Ethier Right on bro, fair enough. FWIW CPU on most plugins these days is pretty minimal... The updates are crucial to running smoother. If one native reverb is maxing your CPU you might want to have a peek at OWC re: improving your laptops horsepower. I'd personally rather spend money on a machine (or beefing up my machine) that's gonna handle what I throw at it vs tip toeing around certain plugins. Back in the day I was running a pretty modest desktop (something like an intel duo core w 8gb of RAM) and it wasn't catastrophic. Even had a friend on a Mac Mini mixing records. Are you using something like a Mac Air? I've heard folks have issues w them... but their really not designed for much beyond web and email. Just thinking out loud 🤙🏻😄👍🏻

Didn’t show the coolest part of the Seventh Heaven. The pre delay has a BPM sync mode. You don’t have to do math to get the right pre delay time. Simply just sync it to the BPM and choose the predelay based on notes.

Hi just want to get your opinion. I have my old mbox 3 pro and I'm looking for a better interface. The ones I'm looking at is the Apollo 8 new black face one, Lynx Aroura the new blue face, motu 828es, and the Antelope Orion studio rev 2017. Now here is the deal I'm really not worried about the plugins that come with the Apollo or antelope Orion studio rev 2017. I want to know which interface has the best sound going in recording and best sound coming out when mixing. They all have the right ins/outs for my outboard gear and digital mixer. Just want to get your opinion on this. Thanks bro! Basically which one has the better converters inside.
@MixBetterNowTV
6 жыл бұрын
Rosewood 216 Great question! The honest answer is every one of those boxes is going to sound really good. The converters on interfaces nowadays are just so good. That being said, if I'm not mistaken, the Lynx is only converters and I/O with no pres? At least the older one was. I think it's a question of do you want preamps in your interface and is recording through plugins to tape a huge part of your workflow. If you're not super bothered by recording through plugins I'd prob get the Antelope. If you are I'd go Apollo. I have 2 Apollo quads on my front end and they're OK, but if I was going to buy a new interface tomorrow I'd either go Antelope or Apogee Symphony. That's just me. Hope that helps. 🙏🏻

Hey Pete. Off topic question.... Do you use that method where you set up a sub master buss and send everything to it expect drums on every one of your mixes? Idk because I’ve been doing it for a while and on my last 2 mixes I felt that the kit wasn’t sitting right.

Inorder to make it work, the parallel compressed track musnt get processed in the master bus.. i.e instead of sub master, use 2 master auxes.. one with your master bus processing and the other with parallel compression.

Piedscooter1 Native plugins are plugins that do not run on dedicated DSP. There's essentially DSP and Native plugins. That guy prob meant Native to the DAW aka stock. Just my guess.
