I love the look of Bismarckia so much, it's like no other palm with that thick trunk and giant white/green leaves. Definitely one of the most beautiful palms.

My house has queen palms, roebeleniis, and sabals installed by the builder and they're looking great so far! If it was a top six, I would've put royals in there too! I agree with your list though! Great video!

Great video James. I probably would of switched out the Pygmy with the Royal. There's some Royals up in Jacksonville last time I checked and cold hardy to about 28f same as the Pygmy.

The Queens can look even more trashy when planted in a desert envoirement with little irrigation. I like a well kept queen too. Many palm snobs don't like it though. They hate on queens and robustas saying they are weeds. I love those palms even though they are common.

The Sabal isn’t especially spectacular looking but it’s cheap and can survive cold but my favorite is the Royal and there’s 1 Royal Palm in Jacksonville that survived multiple winters

I‘ve a question. Im living in austria und want to plant a queen palm outsite. Will it survive the winter?
@maple494
3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what your hardiness zone is but most of Austria is zone 7 and Vienna is zone 8, so technically speaking it won't survive, unless you protect it. You can grow other palms though, like European fan palm, Windmill palm and Sabal Minor. Queen Palm is a zone 9-10 palm.

Can a Majesty Palm stay outside in Georgia?
@androctonusman3839
3 жыл бұрын
Depends on where you are at but most likely a no. Georgia ranges from hardiness zone 6a to zone 9a. A Majesty Palm could not live in any of those zones. The hot, humid summers are perfect for a Majesty Palm. So I would say only in the summer. Now, if you live in zone 9a which is most of coastal Georgia, and have a really really warm microclimate, then most likely a yes. But anywhere else would be a for sure no.

Can they at least survive outside in Augusta Georgia?
@androctonusman3839
3 жыл бұрын
@@nbaantix8131 That would be a no. Augusta is USDA hardiness zone 8a. Majesty Palms require zone 9b or higher. In the summer, definitely. Just make sure you don't put it in direct sun.

I never seen a banana tree before, I have only seen them in movies and tv shows, I live in the state of Connecticut so we don't have a tropical climate, It's very cold in the winter so these trees wouldn't survive without special care and knowledge about growing tropical plants in colder places.

Moro no Brasil e tenho algumas aqui, a Syagrus romanzoffiana é nativa da minha região, existe outra nativa a Acrocomia aculeata. Tenho também Euterpe edulis e Bactris gasipaes, ambas nativas do Brasil, mas não dá minha região. Tenho também Phoenix dactylifera e Dypsis lutescens. Adoro palmeiras e pretendo aumentar a coleção...
