I absolutely love your channel. I used to put your episodes up on my big Tv just on auto play back when I used to live in california. And now the military has picked me up and moved me to Eastern North Carolina if you could believe it!!! I just bought a new construction house and cannot wait to start the landscaping. (With the help of your videos of course) I just love them. Keep doing what your doing! Lots of love from the Brasel Family.

Plant series like Proven Winners usually don't provide a lot of details. With daylily varieties, they don't usually disclose whether they are dormant, semi-evergreen, or evergreen. Dormant daylily varieties don't do well in my part of the country. I would appreciate it if you would include such details when you can. Thanks.

So beautiful. I just got some dianthus, but haven't planted them yet. I'm in zone 10b. Hope they do okay. I have a question about day lilies - what do I do with them once all the blooms have bloomed? Do I cut them all the way down to the base? I'm new to gardening. I just started in May. I'm learning so much from your videos. Thank you.
@GardeningwithCreekside
4 жыл бұрын
Great question! Some people do you like to cut theirs back, but that is when the plant is storing up energy for next year’s blooms so I just leave mine alone. I’ll leave the foliage alone even though it starts to look a little ratty, but that’s OK. My garden never looks 100% perfect at any point. Once the flower scapes stalks are dried then you can just easily remove them and pull them out of the ground.

You would have to make sure the variety you choose is hardy to at least a zone 9 to give it half a chance. I have absolutely zero experience growing in your area but if you can give it lots of shade & consistent water then I say go for it! It certainly won’t hurt to try.

Gardening with Creekside I am sorry but it is true😔 I have a few different varieties of daisy and they all look good only in early summer, then the bugs come and forget it, for the rest of the season they are just trying to recover. On the positive note, there are a lot of PW plants that do just fine and it is so nice to see daisies blooming if only for a short time, I still keep them and hope that some day bugs go away for good! 😊

DreamyGarden2000 out of curiosity, where do you live? I have found that PW’s double impatiens look amazing for me up until early/mid July and then they just turn south. No amount of water & fertilizer helps - I think it’s just too hot & humid for them 😥
