The reason fruit and vegetables can't be brought into South Australia from other states is because of Fruit Fly. South Aussie is pretty much fruit fly free, the council even comes around and sprays fruit trees in people's yards if an outbreak happens. As I recall there is now only 1 place where they stop all traffic to check what you are carrying in from Victoria, and that isn't even the main route most people use, but it does run directly into the fruit and wine growing regions. The idea of 'if you don't bother it, it won't bother you' is a load of bollocks, every crawling thing here wants to kill and eat you, especially the Huntsman and Funnelweb they both have a ravenous appetite for human flesh.

KMart in Australia is not the same as the US one. It was originally opened in 1969 by a partnership between the US Kmart and Australian Coles in a 51% to 49%...in 1978 US Kmart company gave it's share of the Australian Kmart to Coles in exchange for 20% of Coles. In 1994 US Kmart sold its 20% Coles share and since then has no affiliation with Australian Kmart...they have been totally separate companies since then...but also the way Kmart is run, the stock it sells, it's design (look and feel) and branding has been independent from the US Kmart since 1978 when US Kmart exchanged shares.

I'm not much of a coffee snob as I'm usually white (milk) with 2 (sugars) but if I go to a coffee shop, the flat white is what I usually get as it is closest to standard! In saying that, it's FAR better than Starchucks! With the maggies (magpies) around here, once they get used to you, they're fine...I haven't been swooped in years. It's when you go to a new area where the maggies don't know you is when they swoop. Thing is, don't make them think you're a threat and you'll be fine. With the spiders, you have the black widow which is exactly the same as our red backs, only difference is the red on our red back! With spiders and snakes, there's no need to be scared but just respect them as they're more scared of you than you are of them. As for stirring you on Discord, some one has to do it, Nana! 😛😁

Torrens Titles, on the other hand, offer complete individual ownership and control, ideal for those seeking autonomy. To put it simply Strata you have to ask permission what you can do with the land except for the back yard or court yard thats your resposiblity and with torrence you can do what you like with your house or unit as you would own it

I hate that people call the beautiful Ibis that horrible name! It’s not the fault of the birds that they were forced to seek food elsewhere when their habitat began to disappear, they’re water birds, similar to the ones painted on the walls of the Pyramids. Coffee: Aussies always drank tea at home, still do, but with the arrival of Greek and Italian immigrants during the War years, they set up cafes and milk bars as businesses, thus introducing us to real coffee made on an espresso machine. We loved it! They taught us how to do it and we began setting up espresso machines in our restaurants, we trained baristas, learned about roasts and the notes in each blend of coffee beans. Now, in 2024, we get it! We can make it better than Starbucks. We love meeting up with a friend for lunch and having a good cup of coffee made by the barista the way we like it! Along came Starbucks, but we knew from TV and movies that Starbucks didn’t make real coffee, they made desserts! So when Starbucks assumed our love of coffee was the same as theirs, they did no market research and got us all wrong. They had to close about sixty of their stores around Australia! Now they just have a few stores to cater for American tourists. We’re sticking with our local cafe owned by a barista who knows us and our preferred coffee blend.

Magpies have hatchlings for two to four weeks each Spring. The pair mate for life, so when Mum is off getting food for herself and her babies, Dad stands guard over the nest. If a stranger approaches, Dad will swoop on them to ward them off. This won’t happen if the magpies live in a tree on your property or the neighbours’ next door, because Australian magpies are very smart. They recognise the people who live there and won’t swoop on you. It’s strangers who bother them. If you see a magpie swooping, just cross the street and they will leave you alone. Besides, it’s only for two weeks. Once the hatchlings are bigger, they can look after themselves. “Australian Magpie females lay three to five blue or green, brown-blotched eggs. Incubation time: 20 days. The chicks are fed by their mother and have feathers and are ready to fly in about four weeks. Within 2 years, the young magpies are forced by their parents to leave the territory.”

From what I have seen of Americans getting coffee, it always seems to be the same - just black and very hot. There doesn’t seem to be any variety whatsoever. Coffee beans can be compared to grapes, in that where they grow, the type of soil, the type and colour of coffee beans, the temperature and duration of the roasts, the acidity, the fruitiness, the earthy aromas, the floral notes, all influence the flavour of the coffees produced, just as much as the colour of the grapes, their type, where they’re grown etc all affect the wines produced. So we go to a new cafe and tell the barista we prefer a smooth, aromatic blend with a medium roast. Then we tell him our preferred style for that time of day - espresso, cappuccino, long black, flat white, cafe latte, etc.
