I put 40 ah of 52V on the rear rack of my $1,800 Ariel Rider Kepler for a total of 60 ah or over 3,000 Wh of battery. With the suspension seat post and cloud 9 seat it's a comfortable over 200 mile range E bike that goes 35 mph on flat ground easily. All for under $3,000. 😎✌

There are many considerations before buying an e-bike ! Why and what are you REALLY going to use your e-bike for ? How will it do compared to your current pedal bicycle ? When was the last time you rode your pedal bicycle ? If you aren’t riding your pedal bike now , you probably won’t be riding the e-bike you purchased later . This is what I am struggling with ! They are inviting to say the least ! Like anything we purchase , will we use it and get our money’s worth ?

Can we charge these E-Bikes via Solar Panels?
@christophermullins7163

You'd need one in the form of a large foldable fabric that is something like 200sqft. I imagine a standard panel that a couple feet wide would take days to charge.

The US is not the world. If you rode them in europe, you wouldn't get very far as would be sitting ion a jail cell as over the legal engine power limits and max assist speed of 15mph.

EU Classification is an absolute joke! The result is a 250 w motor running with a 36v battery as the norm. Someone needs to take the EU to court over increased motor and battery disposal due to this classification. Hill climbing will cause the 250 w motor to overheat and the 36v battery also has limited range. In addition, most batteries have circa 1000 full charging cycles before becoming redundant, Therefore, the EU have picked the least environmentally friendly option with faster motor/battery disposal and limited range. A larger 48v + battery using a 250 w motor will cause overheating and damage the motor faster so also not an option.

@kyleinchrist1002 You could also argue that the smaller the battery the bigger the risk. Overheating of motor on steep hills causes damage and overtime failure early replacement. Also potential for an accident if it fails on a steep hill. A smaller batter has less range and will need replacement quicker than a larger battery. In addition, less range that means it will be charged more often and is more likely to lead to an overcharging incident and battery fire.

@kyleinchrist1002 Speed can be limited by bike computer software so not a problem. Larger motor required for hill climbing safely.

We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. kzitem.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
