@charless8523

I once sang "Let Her Go" at my school's talent show. Performing the last 2 minutes of the song was a nightmare. Due to the awkwardly long instrumental and repeating chorus, I unconsciously panicked and got nervous. My legs, voice, were shaking, my movements went pale. I looked at my crush in the audience, catching the slightest ounce of confidence I will ever get, singing the final chorus of the song (which was an acapella) I suffered to a career-ending voice crack. As I stepped down stage I can hear the silent chuckles my friends and family had. The desperation I had to create a time machine still lingers in my head. I will never listen to the song ever again.

@@CaptainMizuki uh, you said the song literally sucks. mad respect for acknowledging problematic artists w facts and a serious tone while still being honest about the music. people think you can only choose respecting everything or nothing about an artist but the music industry is not black and white. unfortunately IMO that travis song is like a little fire (sigh) but the mans a flaming a$$hole at the same time and it makes the music hard to listen to or enjoy :/ ps the ariana grande song (7 rings) is literally just a song that's already been done with different lyrics made into a " runaway capitalism is bad and i know it but i'm still gonna overpurchase stupid shit because i don't care at all" (and i'm a fan of some of her others stuff so i promise i'm not biased) edit: "say you won't let go" by james arthur -- "someone like you" by adele -- "the man who can't be moved" by the script -- kill me :)

lmfaoooo, completely agree vocaloid literally is the definition of when you're happy you like the music, when you're sad you understand the lyrics and i'm saying this as a massive vocaloid fan
@JacobPDeIiNoNi
11 ай бұрын
Absolutely, it isn’t really just vocaloid either but Japanese music in general. For a long time even, “I can’t stop the loneliness” by Anri is a very obvious example of this from back in 1984. I also think it is far from a bad thing, sometimes you want music with sad lyrics to relate to with an upbeat sound to bring your mood up. It needs to be done right but songs with sad lyrics do not need to sound sad.

I think this video is pretty good and overall I think Brad is pretty entertaining, but his opinions on Goosebumps and Jocelyn Flores show a little bit of a double standard in my opinion. Brad gives his opinion on Kendrick's verse on Goosebumps which is basically "you can't expect him to be good," and "I prefer a vibe that fits rather than decent writing." And then he listens to Jocelyn Flores where he says "The song is too short and the writing is bad." He does compliment the emotion, but apparently that's not enough to save the song like it does for Kendrick's verse. I'm not a massive fan of X's music but I do like both of these songs and I think that Brad is overvaluing Kendrick and downplaying X because of their styles of music and not because of their actual talent.

the whole issue with heat waves is that glass animals is absolutely one of the most talented bands out there rn. look at how to be a human being and they just have banger after banger of creative ass stuff. with heat waves they bring their creativity and talent to the chorus but go total pop sellout on the verses. its like they tried their best to make a generic pop song but still managed to include some of their talent. wild

its sad that heat waves had to be their most popular thing so far because as you said their previous stuff is so good and the comparison between it to that song is just :/ yknow

I’m so mad that Dance Monkey was so overplayed during the beginning of my high school years now I have so many good memories connected to it just cus it was constantly playing in the background. I hate the song but it gives me a one of a kind feel and I wish that was attached to a better song

“Shallows” is from a super depressing movie called “A Star Is Born”. You kinda have to watch the movie to get the song and why it’s structured the way it is, because it’s sort of context-based. But Bradley Cooper’s vocals are definitely mid throughout the whole thing (the movie and the song lol), so I get it. Lady Gaga’s acting and musical performances made the whole movie, and I would prefer “Shallows” as a solo from her.
