It is a great first step and, in many cases, it is the best last step, too -- especially if your application is not global and very busy. And, if it is, you should be able to afford an efficiency rewrite to get your hardware costs down -- but those are problems that most ever wish they had!

Yes it is easier to brick it 😅 but for developing novel technologies (which is my professional field) it is a lot easier to use the full capabilities os the system. But I would never use it in a laptop, precisely because it is easy to brick, and on my laptop I need stability during development 'cause most of the times I am mobile and don't have time to fix issues. Parrot OS strikes an awesome balance in that regard, it comes out of the box with huge amount of tools, so there in no hassle in development

The frustrated part of Fedora is that it's GNOME oriented and GNOME is a dirty garbage made for aliens. They support other DEs too but not as well as GNOME. I personally prefer Cinnamon. Arch Linux is a piece of shit and must always be avoided. It's not suitable for serious software engineers but for schoolboy nerds only.
