It's fall. The cool air seems to make your motor run better. It's cool enough to slip into a set of leathers. Two lane black tops with enough twists and turns to keep them interesting. Cider mills and pumpkin patches. Little towns filled with interesting shops and a few late season street fairs. This is America anywhere. And there is no better way of enjoying it . Happy motorcycling everyone.

I live close to the Foothills Parkway and visit it regularly. Another lovely road for motorcycle riders near me, is the Cherohala Skyway begining in Tellico Plains, TN and ending in Robbinsville, NC.

Excellent video. Someday, i'd like to ride some roads in the Southern and Eastern US. Just got back with my brother from the Sierra Mts. in California. We rode about 2500 miles and went up and over 4 passes, most around 10k feet elev. Sonora pass was unbelievable.Others were Monitor and Ebbetts pass. Twisty city. Then when we returned, we went from Idaho into Oregon and hit state highway 71{ID} into state 86(ORE}. .86 was about 75 miles of new asphalt, all twisties and no one on it into Baker, Oregon. Thought I died and was riding in heaven. The Z900 and Z900 RS were a blast. Lots of canyon riding. Anyways, enjoyed the video.

Outstanding! We just returned from a 9-day in the Ozarks. One of our faves was a loop ride we called the 9 to 5. We stayed in West Plains, MO; took AR 9 south to where it merged with AR 5 & then 5 back up towards West Plains. There's an excellent restaurant at the 9&5 convergence called Anglers. Sits right on the river and perfect place to stop for a lunch break. You won't be disappointed in the roads or the restaurant. Some awesome end of season riding coming for us in the north. Thank you for putting this out.

There's also Colorado, Utah, Idaho and the West Coast. I'm not too familiar with the best fall colors spots in those (and other states west of OK), but 395 in California along the eastern Sierras is good. Plus, you can ride up 10-20 miles on the various passes to get some great fall colors, too. Like Hope Valley along 88 (Carson Pass) or on 108 (Sonora Pass) etc. Foothills Pkwy and the Blue Ridge Parkway are definitely way up the list if you catch them at peak autumn. I was a couple weeks early the one time I made it out East and rode those, but it was still very nice.

I did Colebrook to Madrid August of this year when I did my 2000 mile ride around new England. (#5) The roads are mostly well maintained. There is a lot of spots to open it up and clean out the carbs. And miles and miles of beautiful scenic views. I started in Connecticut followed 7 up to the Canadian Border (even got a little NY action in) snaked in and out of VT, NH and Maine while going to Fort Kent in Maine before coming back to Connecticut. 5 days, 4 night, 1936 miles. Once you get up into the 3 norther states anything that is not 87, 89, 93, 95 or a "major" highway is an awesome ride. I am going to be doing this trip every year (with road and destination variations) every year until I can not longer ride. (then I'll do in a convertible!)

@@GreatMotorcycleRoads There ate SO MANY road around New England you have not highlighted. I ride 12k-15 per year in these 6 states. (CT, MA, RI, VT, NH and ME). Most of my rides are between 150 and 200 miles per "day". If I am riding multiday I go 400-500 tops per day. I'd love to contribute some of my rides, video's, pictures and info for your reviews.

Missed Foothills last trip, hope to ride it in a few weeks. Only reason I missed it was it got too bloody cold overnight and I wasn't dressed for it, I was about to head up onto the Cherohala when someone who'd just come over (in a car) told me it was still only 25 degrees up there (at noon), figured Foothills wouldn't be much different so I skipped it. Hypothermia I don't need, I'd already stopped three times to warm up that morning. BTW, there is another section to it, it's further north and not connected to the other parts (yet). Google Maps shows the green right-of-way where the road will eventually run all the way through.

Just finished a ride through the UP/LP of Michigan. Had Tunnel of Trees on the list but a local said the speeds would be in the 20s at best and very crowded. Nothing like the depicted wide-open, cager-free ride. LOTS of clutch work and stop/go. I passed. A better option was State Rd 58 (H58) from Munising to Grand Marais, MI. This could be the Michigan Dragon! Fantastic road.
