Jayson, I would like to recommend a full brim enclosed hat. The hat you mentioned is great but it leaves NO coverage for the top part of the head. I have known women who had skin cancer in their scalp. No fun believe me. So PLEASE wear a fully enclosed top hat. And I as well love your videos. Please keep them coming!

I found a packable hat that you can wet with water for cooling at a local store. There is full protection for top of head. It probably is available on Amazon.

Ladies, bring nail polish and nail polish remover with you, in case of refreshing nails. You won't get it in ship's convenience store or dutyfree shop. Reason might be, that cruiselines want you to visit spa for manicure/pedicure.

Two items I try to never forget. Laxative, I don't mean to be "gross" but I always take one the first night to keep things going. I find flying and the cruise can slow things down! Another one, find an emergency dental kit. It will allow you to replace a popped filling should that happen. They can't do anything for you on board and if you have an exposed cavity, you are not enjoying anything to eat or drink! The temporary cap can be placed by anyone and will give you 24-48 hours to find a dentist on the shore. That is extremely rare to happen, but if it does....your vacation can be ruined. :) A sweater can also help, if you get too much sun. I've had sunburns where sadly, with all the blood rushing to the burn...you start shivering!

Thank you for mentioning the jacket and sweater. It is cold in the public places on the ships. I have been saying in this for years. I always bring a hoodie and I always bring a hat and gloves. Especially on the Oasis class ships. When the aqua theater ends at the back of the ship and the wind is blowing. It is so cold. You will not regret bringing those items. I also bring sewing kit. I'm going to email you and you should get that added to your list.

I keep my first aid kit, toiletries, power cube, night light, magnet hooks and clips, etc. in my suitcase, ready to go. When I get home from a cruise, I replenish anything I've used and put it all back in the suitcase.

I'd add to that hoodie or fleece jacket, a waterproof packet jacket in case of rain or cooler weather, which I'm sure hubby and I will encounter during the evenings on our upcoming cruise (Boston to Montreal next month). Windbreaker or rain jacket, it's bound to come in handy.

Everyone says to bring cash - but, never suggest how much!

Some have said $100 a day. We usually take 2 or 3 hundred in $1, $5 $10 dollar bills. Another $200 or $300 in larger bills. It gets us through for cash, mostly tips for porters and extra tips for crew . It depends on your budget, spending, and tipping habits and how long your cruise is.

@@julieb7882 $50 in singles, $150 in fives. That covers everything we have ever needed.

It really depends on your budget. I would say it’s good to have as much extra as possible. If money is no object then a few hundred a day, minimum of $100 a day if you can. However I’ve cruised several times with no extra money at all and still had a blast. But money always helps because there’s always a lot of things to buy. But you can get by in a pinch with no money and if you’re literally dying or bleeding or something they will give you a bandaid or get you to a hospital or whatever. You don’t NEED extra money on a cruise aside from the gratuities…. Technically you could just stay on the ship and eat at main dining and the buffet the whole time and only indulge in the included stuff and be fine. It’s more fun if you have spending money though, and you’ll have more comforts (like your preferred brand of stuff if you need to buy something). And just pack properly and don’t forget stuff (like a first aid kit and medicines and a variety of clothing).
