I came to this channel after seeing your interview on the financial diet; I have a deep personal interest in understanding slavery and taking steps to end it. Your work is so important and you are doing a great service with your life, thank you. But what is especially fascinating about your perspective is that you are someone who loves fashion. It’s easy to be minimalist and ethical with clothing if you are comfortable being with a very neutral style and don’t value clothes as anything more than a thing to cover your body. The fact that you combine a love of style with an understanding of clothing manufacturing and a strong moral code makes your voice so compelling, I love these videos!

It's interesting how I absolutely adore the way you present these trends (your videos are always top-notch quality!) and how abhorrent the trends themselves look to me😅especially the first two - the last thing I would be interested now is injecting more technology even into my wardrobe after the digital overload due to the pandemic. the new goth fashion just confirms what I realised not so long ago: fashion is really cyclical. But the thing is if one likes goth aesthetic, one would wear it regardless of whether it's in vogue right now. Which is why I am personally skipping all the trends and trying to understand what styles/aesthetics appeal to me irrespecutful to the "outer situation"

@@agabrielhegartygaby9203 true! I think today fashion is really more of a creativity exercise rather than aesthetic matched with necessity. I liked the fringes ( but only in practical size :D) and colourful accessories. My personal fashion is changing to be less serious about ourselves, bring a little fun, a little joy, something unexpected to it. Even though my style is very classic, nothing too "fashionable" or excessive. For me it started with socks. I like fun socks. And once I could only find cropped jeans. I don't like them being short. But you know what, I don't care, let's have everybody see my colorful and fun socks, and may your day be happier seeing the bunnies on it. That's my take 😊

One thing that I think about a lot though: During my teens...most things that are now sooo fashionable, would make me feel like a weirdo for wearing it/likeing it. Like people who dressed in a certain way, were often the outsiders, and thought to be the weird ones. And now those things are cool, and get praised. I think that is twisted. Though at the same time, while I was embarrased to tell people what things I actually liked back then...now ALL of that is considered cool, it's popculture... So....I kinda won😅 but just couldn't enjoy myself enough, when it was my time. Also those things and people were somewhat unique. Now everyone looks the same, in a kwerky way...but it's less personality, more only to be fashionable, at least that is my opinion...

That was fun! Justine, I do so enjoy your Fashion Trends videos... then again, I enjoy every one of your videos! ;) I guess I'm "on-trend in two ways, though that hardly seems fair since I just bought pieces I loved years ago. My first is a chartreuse embossed leather satchel handbag. After years of carrying only black, I decided it was time for a change. In the years since, it has gotten lots of attention. Odd though, people tell me they are not like me and could not carry it - not that they didn't want to but that they couldn't. My second is a black leather motorcycle jacket from the 1950s. It is just as you described - with fringe along the bottom seam of the sleeves. It is in excellent condition, and I do my best to take care of it as I adore it.
