Was mache ich falsch?

nice fling! do you have some tips on tuning, since mine is somewhat sluggish in response, and wants to quit, it is under cowling but believe cooling is ok, no overheating by measuring the temps. did you come upon no reaction in max rpm even if you screw the high needle 1 turn in or out...

Hi Tomislav, you have to adjust the low speed needle first. Do only very small adjustments on the low speed needle and keep checking throttle response. If engine quits when applying throttle from idle: mixture too lean; if engine won't rev up: mixture too rich. Low speed needle has impact up to 3/4 full throttle. So first get a nice throttle response from idle to about 3/4 full throttle. Once this is ok, adjust high speed needle. Take your time, don't rush it.

@@slyburner123 thanks a lot, today I took it easy, 90 minutes of tuning, starting from LSN, and only after that HSN, now it works like it should and no dying in air no more. Video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/0Gl52Wicm6Sfh6g Thanks thanks thanks man. Halpy flying

hi friend, this engine is good to tune? and change about cdi, spark plug?

Hi Adriano, I've been flying this engine for about a year now. It took me some time to get it tuned. Reason is, I didn't have experience with 4-stroke gas engines as I started rc flying with electric powered airplanes three years ago. I wanted to tune it by myself to build up the skills. So therefore I made way to big adjustments on the two needles in the beginning which didn't lead to satisfactory results. Take your time to tune it, make only very small adjustments - especially on the low speed needle, and break it in as explained in the manual. I use an electric starter and the engine always starts within seconds, even it was stored in the hangar for several weeks. The airplane is stored upside down so that the oil doesn't seep into the combustion chamber and flood the spark plug. The gas I use is unleaded fuel 98 octane with 5% fully synthetic 2-stroke oil. In some estimated 80 flights I once made a small adjustment on the low speed needle, and perhaps 5 adjustments on the high speed needle due to changes in air humidity and / or temperature. Still the original spark plug in it; and sorry, I don't understand what you mean with CDI...if you mean the ignition sensor, I didn't touch it either.Since March this year I'm flying a Top Flite P-47 Razorback with a Saito FG-60R3 (kzitem.info/news/bejne/pYSZ2ouLgIeLlqg). Runs just perfect after I got it tuned. Took me quite some time to get it run smoothly, but this again was due to lack of experience. The dealer gave me some tipps on how to proceed and after that it was just fine. Engine usually starts after the third flip (hand start).Currently I'm running in a Saito FG-14C; this one seems to be a bit tricky, but I think it's an overheating problem inside the cowling. Need to baffle it or wait for fall.To make a long story short: If I need another gas engine it's gonna be a Saito!

thanks for the lesson! I see Many owners saito Fg20 and 21 , they change the cdi / ignition to a Rcxcel ignitions and spark plug too... Very nice flight! very skill pilot!! ...I need to put another engine on my corsair top elite .60, my saito 115 is broken...

Adriano Quirino Thank you 😃 I never had a problem with the ignition box so I'll stick to the stock equipment. Please subscribe to my channel, there will be a video of my FG-14C, pulling a Seagull P-51 through the air 😉

Hi, thank you! There are one or two better videos on my channel of this aircraft though 😉 About the weight...I never weighed the P-47....I'd estimate her to be around 6kg, which is about 13lbs. She's easy to land and the Saito FG-21 pulls her with authority. Looking forward to get her out of the hangar in spring! 😃

Thank you for the fast response. I’m putting together a Top Flite p-51 kit and wondered if the FG-21 would be enough to pull it. It sounds like it would do so nicely.
