Bush states that waits not time to cast protest votes, and says that it’s one thing to talk campaign rhetoric and another to make tough decisions.He does not once mention his opponents name. Pat Buchanan says he needs only 25% of the vote to send Bush a message.
Polls show Democrat Paul Tsongas is first ahead of the second place Bill Clinton. Paul Tsongas repeats his opposition to a middle class tax cut, and says his ultimate responsibility is to get people to work. Clinton responds to the personal questions and he says he can take the heat and go on. Senator Tom Harkin says that there was questions about Clinton’s character.
In international news, three Israeli soldiers are lacked to death and Israel strikes back with a helicopter gunship assault in southern Lebanon, killing members of group of Hezbollah.
