Visiting Olympic National Park ? There are a couple wild roads to the tip-tops of Olympic National Park. We discovered you could get to the tops of Blue Mountain and the Obstruction Point areas without miles of steep hiking. THEN, the hikes are the cream on the top with ultra scenic 360 degree views. Join me as we visit the Hurricane Ridge area and Blue Mountain!
This is one of three videos I put together on Olympic National Park. This video is the alpine mountain region. The other two are:

We start with Deer Park Road. Taking the Rainshadow Trail was one of the most scenic trails I've ever been on with views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Canada, the towns of Sequim and Port Angeles and the Cascade Mountain Range. This area also features a couple campgrounds and the Three Forks Trail and Slab Camp.
Next, we drive to the Hurricane Ridge area to hike some amazing trails in that area: High Ridge Trail, Klahhane Trail, Cirque Rim Trail, and Meadow Trails. Off the Hurricane Ridge road, there is an option to head up a wild road to Obstruction Point where the trails continue. Unfortunately, the famous Hurricane Hill Trail was closed due to Mountain Goat Management. Along the way, I learned about the non-native Mountain Goats and the Mountain Goat Management Project.
What are the most scenic trails in Olympic National Park?
If you're into views, there are expansive views from Rainshadow Trail on Blue Mountain, Hurricane Ridge Trail and Obstruction Point.
UPDATE: May 7, 2023 Hurricane Ridge Day Lodge Visitor Center was completely destroyed by a fire. It was in the middle of a $10.8 million dollar upgrade and was closed to the public at the time the fire broke out. This video shows the visitor center before the fire.
