We have a Jay Feather 29L. I like that it is low to the ground, has an actual trailer frame under it, and a nice long slide, which you don’t even have to deploy to use all features in the trailer if you’re travelling. Also love the full pass-through storage at both ends. What we hate is the sort of queen bed in the nose. No reason for it. Lazy design.

Always enjoy your videos. We own a 97 Fleetwood Mallard 19-footer and have loved it. Just the right size for two, easy to pull and fits easily into even the smallest Nat. Park campground. Looking now for an easier bed to get in and out of. The small Jayco looks great as does the 21’ Geo-Pro you reviewed earlier. We’ll strongly consider the 2+hour drive to Richmond because of your reputation and honest approach. One suggestion for your Bish’s website-a filter for overall length. We upgraded the AC, TV, outside Griddle, and stability steps on purchasing, then upgraded the bathroom medicine cabinet/mirror, table legs, wall hooks, and a few easier items on our own based off of videos like this. Thank you so much. TOTALLY recommend the Jayco 295BHS, with some upgrades, as a first or even 2nd or 3rd camper. Absolutely love it. There was a lot of Jayco and Keystone Cougars, but what about Rockwoods doin' Rockwood things? Mini Lites and Geo Pros are usually some that you speak very highly of in your videos, but not a peep about them here. Not to mention, I don't recall seeing anything here with a Murphy bed, which can be a great space saver. I appreciated the Winnebago Micro Minnie, but that seemed to be it as far as small campers go. What about single axle campers, perhaps an R-Pod or something else in that class? Also, I didn't see anything from Grand Design - they're usually pretty well regarded. Some hybrid/popup campers like the Rockwood Roo might be good to showcase too, or even an Aliner (if Bish's carries them). Are Jayco and Keystone Cougars just that much better than the competition?

Make the Winnebago solo camper 8 feet wide with a dine-ofa instead of the dinette and I think it may be as close to EXACTLY what I'm looking for or as close to it as I thought was possible. So far my two favorite couples campers, as a replacement for vanlife, would be the Coachmen Northern Spirit 1943RB / Rockwood Mini Lite 2205S. Both have the rear entry with the fridge next to the nice size bathroom, driver side with nice theater seats across from size-able kitchen + swivel mount Tv, and at the front is a full queen with walking space on either size + under bed storage. And they’re both around 5K pounds dry, meaning a midsize could tow it just fine, transmission cooler would probably be a worthwhile investment though. I think the Coachmen is slightly better with an L shaped kitchen that provides bar seating, and a far larger under bed storage.

Bear in mind, the east coast id infested with toll roads. Sometimes $15-20 for a car to cross a bridge or tunnel, easy to spend $50 in a day. Toll charges are based on axles, so a single axle trailer increases your tolls by 50% but the admittedly better dual axle will DOUBLE your tolls.

Also our more realistic choice is most likely going to be the Grand Design 200MMK. It's much larger feeling inside than we expected and with the sofa and floating table instead of the dinette, it's got some nice rainy day movie watching space. The kitchen space is unrivaled in it's size aside from the other brands making virtual copies of the floorplan and the bathroom really isn't bad since it doesn't have a corner shower, at 6'2" and more like 6'5" with my chunky work boots on, my head is in the skylight but I wouldn't have any issues taking a shower in there. Then the killer feature is that since this one is a permanent bed instead of a Murphy, you don't have to worry about the slide cutting off access to it in road mode which we see as an absolute must for rest stop naps on a road trip, and it's a full queen instead of a shorty. You've even got a nice chunk of solar with the 165 watt panel to keep that fridge going for all your snacky needs on the way to your destination! I did fall in love with the Ember 21MRK for a lot of the same reasons and more but once we saw the price difference... It's hard to beat the Grand Design.

If it’s got a fart fan that can be add to the scrap heap as well. Replace with a different one with a cover so you could run it in the rain. Number three get a gallon of paint that will take care of the dark wood. Number four add the Froli sleep system to the piece of plywood then add a better mattress. This was an A- before it only gets better. I could keep going but this is the only one for me and mama bear. Thanks nerd.

I ended up buying a FSX280 at the end of last year because it was still in the range of what I felt comfortable towing with my half ton. Then I ended up falling into a great deal on an older F250 and kind of regret not going a tick bigger. But even still, the size of the 280 is just about perfect for what I need it for (motorcycle rallies) but I would have liked something with a tick more cargo capacity. With my Harley Softail and a friends Sportser, I’ll be not too far from GVWR on the trailer before even any water is added. Live and learn.

We have a 2021 StarCraft 281BH that is 33ft in length with a single slide that spans much of the utility side of the unit. Thankfully, we have a 2022 F350 that tows it very well, but I see TONS of people towing units of similar length with 1/2 ton trucks. Although I technically think it could indeed do it depending on the truck... yikes. In a good wind, we get blown a fair bit with that 1 ton and a good WD hitch. I feel like the industry really needs to do more at point of purchase to make sure that people new to RVing are safe for themselves and others on the road. A lot of those units marketed at "Half Ton Towable" are concerning to me. Going 30 miles from home to the lake, sure. Going across the country... maybe not. Thanks for doing your part in that education in this video.

The Rockstaff 235S should have been in there. Two queen beds (private as well) enough floor space for packnplays for when kids are small, and when they are, a bed big enough for 2 of them. Huge outside kitchen. Also great for couples and friends camping because everyone's bed is the same. No one stuck on a sofa or bunk meant for a kid.

For non junk camping. 1. Oliver, four seasons 2. Airstream, three seasons. When money is no object 3. Earth Roamer There are a few others, but most RVs rank from barely ok to downright junk.

My husband and I appreciate all the information that you give on your You Tube channel. We have been watching a lot of You Tube trying to educate ourselves. We do have a question on something that has only been mentioned a couple of time. Can you please let me know when the sliders are in, can we still use the master bed, or if I had the dinette down as a bed can we still use that to sleep on for that overnight stop. Another question is the sliders itself, is one system better than the other?
@JoshtheRVNerd

To date Brinkley is the only towable builder I know of to test a closed slide - and only their bed slides. Otherwise I can’t ever tell you it’s ok Regarding best systems see here: m.kzitem.info/news/bejne/paGdv56lopyFgX4

Appreciate all your RV videos. I was looking to downsize from a diesel pusher to a small tow behind and used your reviews as a very valuable tool to determine what was out there. Your review of the 191MSL reintroduced me to Ember after I had dismissed them as "too new" at the RV show. I now have the 191MSL and am able to configure it to solo camp, RV with my wife and 2 dogs, or Tailgate for a week at a NASCAR race. Combine that with the curt suspension that makes this the best towing RV I have had and I feel like this one should have made your list.
