The chest cyst and subsequent hematoma were pretty amazing. Would it help to pack the cyst to prevent the hematoma?
@DrMudgil
3 жыл бұрын
They were good ones for sure! There's usually no need to pack for this sort of procedure (it's uncomfortable for patients and increases infection risk). An unfortunate sequence of post-operative events combined with some blood thinners on board created a perfect storm. Fortunately, all healed up beautifully, and my patient is doing terrific! ;)

@DrMudgil
3 жыл бұрын
Yup - if you read through the comment thread, it's explained in detail.

Were the #4 hematomas caused from lack of pressure of dressings, ? is forming hematomas at that particular area a very bad thing or just an every day occurrence ? They look quite scary. I like the 1st cyst removal from the guy who has so many of them, Do cysts eventually simmer down and or stop forming in their 40 50, 60 due to change of hormonal levels, ,
@DrMudgil
3 жыл бұрын
This hematoma was actually caused by a perfect storm of blood thinners combined with a little too much post-op exertion. They rarely happen, but there's always a risk when a large lesion is removed. Cysts can happen at any time of life - there's not much rhyme or reason.
