I think its important to add that you can still be dehydrated even if your drinking lots of water. You need those electrolytes! Electrolytes allow water to penetrate the cell wall. I always keep a gallon of cucumber water in my fridge. Cut 1 whole cucumber add it to your gallon and let it sit overnight before drinking it. Such a cheap and an easy way to stay hydrated. Plus its so much tastier than plain ol agua! :D

Electrolytes are even more important than water. Make sure you are getting enough magnesium, potassium, and sodium on a daily basis. A body can still be dehydrated if only drinking water but neglecting electrolytes. A great option is keeping a pitcher of infused water on hand using cucumber & fresh lime or lemon juice (vitamin C) with NoSalt (potassium) and iodized sea salt (sodium) and taking a magnesium glycinate supplement. Adding collagen peptide powder to your smoothies or hot beverages also repairs and boosts collagen production. Any serums or topical products are the icing on the cake. True & lasting beauty & health starts from the inside out. :)

hi Pepo! I really believe it's a case by case scenario depending on your skin type and the specific product. from my understanding, so long as alcohol denat isn't the main ingredient, it won't be as drying and stripping. below is an excerpt from The Derm Review. Hope this helps! -Ro "When high concentrations of denatured alcohol are used in the formulation of skin care products, this ingredient can cause drying and irritation. Denatured alcohol can also cause erosion of the skin’s surface layer, leading to a weakened skin barrier. However, according to FutureDerm, if lower concentrations of denatured alcohol are used, this ingredient may simply be acting as a degreasing agent, making for a better texture of the skin care formulation. Ultimately the safety of Alcohol Denat. in cosmetics and personal care products depends on both the type of denaturant and also the concentration that is used to create the formulation."

You could try using a retinol cream as a spot treatment just to treat those areas. Retinol increases cellular turnover of the skin, removing and replacing the outer layer of dead skin cells more quickly. Many dermatologists recommend it for reducing scarring and dark spots as well. I use the Neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair serum. Just one pea size does the trick for the entire face so I'd use it very sparingly for spot treatment. Just a tiny dab will do. Start by using it every other night before you apply your moisturizers and serums to prevent dry patches. A small amount of flaking may occur after the first couple uses, but nothing a light exfoliation and some moisturizer won't fix. (; Once your skin stops flaking in response to the retinol, increase the use to every night. Scarring and dark spots should see marked improvement within 6 weeks. As a bonus it also helps to reduce blackheads and uneven texture on the face. For reference I am 26 and have no wrinkles, aside from slight forehead lines that show up only if I'm super dehydrated. Retinol isn't just for mature women. I also have sensitive skin by the way, dry sensitive skin actually and after getting back into using it for the last couple weeks my skin looks like a baby's butt! I also use a clarisonic with the delicate brush head which helps clean my skin and prevent breakouts while also acting as a daily mild exfoliant and increases absorbtion of all my face products. Make sure to get the delicate brush head though, NOT the sensitive one. I found the sensitive brush head to be too rough. The delicate brush head allows me to use my clarisonic day and night without issue. For a gentle cleanser that actually removes all debris AND makeup from the skin without leaving it feeling tight and dry, I recommend Philosophy's Purity Made Simple one-step facial cleanser. I've tried everything else and NOTHING compares. Hydration and moisturizing is also important for improving the appearance of scarring. I recommend Neutrogena's spf oil free moisturizer for the AM and Cerave's hyaluronic acid night moisturizer for sensitive dry skin for night time. Both are good for both dry and oily complexions as they are very hydrating but light enough to not feel heavy on the skin. (:

Hi Beauty Within! Do you have any serums that don’t react to Differin Gel (Acne cream)? I’m going to use Differin Gel for my acne but need to hydrate before using it! I don’t want to make my acne worse by putting the wrong moisturizer 💀💀 Thanks 🙏

Pyunkang Yul toner makes my skin feel dry! I’ve tried applying on damp skin Everyone raves about this toner but I don’t get it. Am I right in saying it also contains silicones? I prefer the klairs unscented one, but I still wouldn’t say this hydrates me enough. Suggestions? Don’t want any fragrance m.

is there any particular reason why Klairs products arent featured in the videos? I find that some of their products are great, but never see it in any of your recommendations. just curious heheh

So is Aha a type of natural hemectant or just a natural substance? Lol all these terminology are very overwhelming.

I’m curious if glycerin can clog skin pores and cause acne. Thanks

About Neutrogena. It’s not the glycerin, it’s the Dimethicone. Dimethicone is the second ingredients in the hydro boost moisturizer and it’s really irritating to the skin.

Louise Udne That’s really interesting, it doesn’t irritate my skin but i guess my pores don’t react well to that

in case someone searches for a review on the make p:rem hydrate me micro tension cream and has dry/dehydrated and sensitive skin(acne prone), this cream is definitely hydrating and makes your skin feel super smooth but! after a couple uses i started noticing break outs in my t-zone. not only that, but after i completed my skincare routine and wrapped it up with moisturizing with this cream my skin starts to tingle a bit- sensitized by maybe all the essential oils in this cream. the tingling is bearable for me since this cream does hydrate my dry skin but the pimples that pop up make it hard to use. i would use this as a spot treatment type cream on dry areas only, and definitely not use this in the summer time as i get a bit oily in my t-zone. super dry skin people that aren’t sensitive/acne prone (not one bit!!! i mean it!) i would go for this! if youre like me, i would skip!

Thank you for the heads up! I was eyeing this cream, but was hesitant to purchase because of the same concerns re: the essential oils aggravating my acne!
