Hey Gnimsh, great video! About the timing thing at 2:15, there is actually no window to play instants after the reaction step but before the damage step, so if you want Lightning press to buff the damage, you have to play it same time as you would an attack reaction. They will have an opportunity to respond with a defense reaction.

when it comes to closing the chain, I like to lay the cards out in the entire turn but seperate them if they are seperate chains

You mention you can play Instants after the reaction step, but I once got Judge-called and told that after the Reaction step there is no priority until damage is dealt and the only times I can activate an Instant is during the reaction window or before the attack resolves (as there apparently also is no priority during the blocking step). The reason I got judge-called is because at an event I used to use Reinforce the Line as a way to 'bait' Dorinthea. Block 3, while they present 6 damage with Warrior's Valor, ask "Reactions?", they say no, I say no and then "After the reaction step, instant speed Reinforce the Line." A judge was called and I was told I cannot do that. Lost the game as a result.

Thanks for mentioning this, I will cut it out. I was somehow under impression that you can do it, but it seems I need to refresh my rules knowledge again ^^

one thing I'm very guilty of is playing a card and then saying pay with tunic but opponent can actually respond to tunic

yeah, this one is super common as well. Another one I remembered is when you don't wait for opponent to draw their hand after they finished and you blocked most of it and then attacking with a weapon before they even saw their hand. They can auto just take it as they don't have a hand yet.

@@GnimshTV thanks for this video and help to improve our play. Can you please explain this rule more about an opponent auto taking weapon? Not sure I follow but seems important to slow down and not mess up

@@boardgamerav6252 yeah, so this happened to me a couple of times. I play vs a control deck with my midrange deck. I do attack them with all I have and they are left with only 1 card in hand. I say that I finish my turn, but before I even have a chance to draw they already say pitch blue and attack you with a hammer as their turn is super simple and they are itching to draw a hand. What that creates in my head is that I'm being attacked for 4, but have nothing to block as I haven't drawn my hand yet, so I'm more likely to take it. Which is why my advice is to be kind and always wait for your opponent to draw their hand and ask if you can proceed to your turn and attack. If you haven't drawn your hand and are being attacked you can ask your opponent to wait. Draw and take your time thinking as you need to plan your whole turn before they even draw their new hand.

At 10:10, you mention Plunder Run going to the graveyard when you close the chain. But Plunder Run should go to the graveyard as soon as it is played and resolved. We keep it in play as a reminder, but it is not linked to the chain at all, like any NAA or Instant. All NAA or Instant go to the graveyard directly after their effect is applied. So putting Plunder Run in the Graveyard has nothing to do with closing the chain. If you want to keep it in play to remember its effect (I do it and I think it is a good idea), you can also keep it if you close the chain.

What equipment is even available to you once you've blocked with it? The only ones that I know of, are Battleworn equipment. Are there others?

You have equipment with temper or like ramparts it can be used once per each ocmbat chain so if opponent break a chain you can block with it more than once and each time you can pay to increase its def stat

seems like you know the rules verry well i have a question: How does steadfast work? opponent: Command and conquer me: no blocks him: no attack reactions me: no defense reactions him: still no attack reactions. Damage me: before damage steadfast. I prevent 6, get no damage and keep my arsenal. is that the correct phase to play that card? or do i have to play it earlier? I like to play it that way because using it this way my opponent is no longer able to buff his attack.
@louczykidziabel

There is no "before damage". Reaction step is the last chance for you to play steadfast.
