When you go out there is there anyone out there like monitoring you? Also if so. Do they make you wear helmets ?

We only saw one 'official' dude the whole time, who came by to politely ask us to not do donuts in the middle of the lake (so that we didn't ruin it for others). Nothing organized, no regulations (such as helmets) and seemingly no other rules ...just use your best common sense. Not many places like that left in the world. It was pretty much just us and a gigantic playground.

Do you have footage from the other car? This would be a good post for how the exhaust gas on these z's hangs out around the hatch seals. Would be interesting to watch. I had to run side pipes to eliminate the issue on my '70.

after a 'rat bobber' a Z is on my short list... prefer 240 or 280 over the 260 thought ;-) thanks for the share

there's very little difference between S30's (240-260-280)...you can take the bumpers off a 280 and put on 240 bumpers... 280's are also a lot cheaper to buy

Cooprdog Johnson I'd prefer 240 then 280 and then 260 in that order.

Cooprdog Johnson it's all good - just realized I said essentially the same thing earlier and that your comment was in response to that :-) not sure why it is stuck in my mind that way - just from highschool days in 85'ish or so... could be that the 260'z I came across were shittie in my area

Not anywhere near like I thought it would and I felt safe the whole time (although also didn't try to turn at those speeds). I have the MSA Type I front air dam & BRE-style rear spoiler, which I have to believe significantly helped at those high-speeds. Definitely go run at the lake! Only $10 for the day, you can camp there and 'go as fast as you want, up and back'.

My speedo is inaccurate, so used a GPS-based system and ran up to a verified 150mph in the Z before letting off. My friend in the S4 did a later run where he hit 161mph.
