When I lived in LA in the 70’s the views were never clear and beautiful due to the smog. I realized how gorgeous LA really was one day in 1974 when I was on an upper floor in the RCA building meeting with the then Beach Boys Manager. It had rained in the morning and it was clear as can be. Totally blown away seeing such an amazing view. Next LA visit I’m definitely going to do some of your suggested hikes. 😎🎸Thanks for posting such cool videos. Makes my daily exercises go quicker.

Thanks for the video. Did Millard Canyon Falls this morning (long version). Even though it was a Saturday, it was only moderately crowded and we also got to spend about 5 minutes alone at the waterfall. The campground was pretty crowded with boyscouts, but it was just so quiet near the waterfall. The weather was great and the canyon was just beautifully lit. Appreciate the recommendation 🙂

Hey Tim, What happened to your Neil Young Topanga Canyon video?
@RockessentialTim
3 жыл бұрын
His wonderful record company, Warner Brothers made KZitem take it down because they say I infringed on his copyright by playing "Southern Man" on the piano for 5 seconds--like that somehow is going to take away from their record sales. I have to wait another month or so before I can repost without the offending parts. Sometimes we live in a really ridiculous world.

Well I thought that might have been the case but I'm glad to hear that you'll be putting it back up soon. If you watch Rick Beato he goes on at length about this nonsense and having problems with the record companies even when the artists approve of his endorsements. My next trip to LA is in September and I plan to check out one or two of your recommended hikes. So thanks for all those great videos.....

On my only trip to LA (2018) Franklin Canyon was on my list but ran out out of time. That pond was the Andy Griffith opening and (I think) used for the iconic Creature from the Black Lagoon scene. Sad I missed it but I did have pizza at the Rainbow and saw the Canyon Country Store. I have pretty great pics of those & the Whiskey
