The Sea ain't Mine Alone is truly an experience in book form. C.L. Beaumont crafted a story worth holding in our hearts ❤

hell yeah for the fans and the adrien english series was one of my favourite romances of 2023 too! overall my faves of last year were: 1. For the Fans by Nyla K This story was super long but I was so invested that I finished the book in a day; I love a character arc where the author makes me start out despising a character and by the end of the book makes me love them. The plot, the characters, the emotions, the slow burn, the gradual disintegration of the characters' animosity towards each other... IT WAS SO GOOD 2. Death of a Pirate King by Josh Lanyon (Adrien English Mysteries Book 4) I just LOVED the slow burn in this series as a whole tbh and I think book 4 was my favourite, spending so much time with the characters over the course of these books made me feel super invested. Also the portrayal of internalized homophobia was difficult to get through but that also made it very realistic and appropriately handled, I appreciated seeing that 3. Paladin's Grace by T Kingfisher (Saint of Steel Book 1) Hetero romance that I described in my goodreads review as "a book that unabashedly embraces the horniness of its endearingly awkward characters whilst having a plot that's somehow both high-stakes and charmingly comedic" 4. Reign of Darkness by Ariana Nash (The Prince's Assassin Book 2) This is an MM fantasy romance, I loved the first book in this series too but the second book focused more on the development between the two characters (slow burn yet again); the plot is very political-intrigue heavy and quite dark-one of the characters especially has a lot of trauma so I'd recommend checking the triggers if needed by anyone! also this series gave me trust issues big time, the author really plays with your emotions and I love it

hi, Mehta!! Adrien English is AMAZING!!! I love rereading books four, five and six. I think i know them by heart at this point LOL You know what, I'm adding The Prince Assassin to my priority list. So many people has recommend it to me but I'm so afraid of fantasy romances, I'm really really really picky with them but this deserves an exception *crosses fingers* I haven't heard a lot about Reign of Darkness, but knowing you put it in right after Adrien English... That's praise!! I may try that one too. thank you so much!💛

it really was!!! do you think it's better than the first one?? i hope you have a good time with her other books. I read almost her entire backlist because i had a lot of fun with Project Hero but they weren't hitting the same. If you have read Project Hero though, it's not as deep as this new series though. I truly think this series is her masterpiece so far (but i think i have a couple of other books from her still unread so maybe i'm wrong!). I'd love to hear your thoughts when you try them!
