The way you explain everything is just amazing. Most honest artist who wants her audience to understand everything you know. Best teacher like kirsty patridge. ❤

Thankyou 😊 I love Kirsty Partridge as well! She's the reason I started KZitem because there aren't many artists who are clearly explaining what they are doing and I would have loved that help when I first started! So I'm trying to help as much as I can 😊

Amazing work! Do you spray fix the final piece?
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt
Жыл бұрын
Thank you 😊 Unfortunately, most fixatives cause more problems than they solve! Your artwork can end up being darkened/discoloured or the fixative doesn't actually "fix" anything Most pastel artists don't use fixatives for that reason If you use the techniques and supplies that I use, there's no reason you need to fix your pastel paintings because there's very little dust fall off, it's archival/lightfast without it, and if you store it correctly and/or frame it properly then you won't have any issues 😊 If you still think you would like to use a fixative, Spectrafix is one of the main brands that don't cause much colour change (however, it still doesn't completely "fix" the artwork and can cause "spots/droplets" from the spray that you will probably need to cover up with more pastel) and like I mentioned earlier, it's not necessary to use a fixative 😊)

Your channel is brilliant. Do you ever have problems with pastel dust? I feel like it's on the back of my throat :(
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt
3 жыл бұрын
I personally don't have problems with it, but some people do! It also depends on which pastels you are using I find that the Pan Pastels with pastel pencils produce way less dust than regular soft pastel sticks You can also buy air purifiers which can help with the dust as well! Some people even buy small vacuum cleaners to regularly vacuum the excess dust off their artwork and work surface, which may be helpful as well 😊

What’s the tool called that you use to bend the eyes hair etc - the blue hand one in the beginning? What alternative can I use if I don’t have it?
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt
2 жыл бұрын
That is a Sofft tool that you use to apply the Pan Pastels with! There isn't anything else that compares to that tool when it comes to using the Pan Pastels But if you are talking about blending pastels in general (not actually applying Pan Pastel) you can use a cotton tip 😊

what is the name of the white pencil you are using with the hair strokes? and the protective guard up to help prevent smears?
