Very cool system, thank you for taking the time to show it. This will work on those emergencies where there is no longer gasoline available and can charge a cell phone, a laptop, Any bigger and you can power a small refrigerator or power a dialysis machine or CPAP for overnight,

I have a similar system with a 36ah LiFePo4 battery and 1000watt inverter. I want to be able to run my freezer during a power outage. My PWM controller works just fine at 14.4 volts. Like yours, mine should not be used with lithium, but nobody seems to know why.

I tried an inverter and it didn't work out. I'm not sure if the inverter was bad or the battery didn't have enough power for it. It's too bad the Top Solar controller doesn't work for lithium batteries. Good luck with building a solar system.

excellent... that is what i wanted how is the controller has been working for you? i came here to see if you had to change the default because it wouldn't work LifePO4

It is easy to program your battery type. Connect your battery and when the screen hovers over the battery symbol hit the enter button. That will allow you to scroll to battery type and voltage. I hope that helps.

My little system hasn't seen much use lately. I did purchase an OKMO G2000 power station. Nice step up for me.

What did you do for an inverter? Or are you just using DC power?

I just use it for dc. It's good for that. Probably not enough power for an inverter.

How do I tell the difference between the positive and negative cords coming from my solar panel? They are both black and the panel is bolted to the top of my van. Thank you.

Hi, the positive cable is the one with the male end and a little red O ring. The female plug is the negative.

The problem I can see with this is the battery maybe max charge rate is one fifth off the 12ah at 12v. This will be 1.2 amps. The charge from the charge controller with 100w solar panel is 8amps of charge.
@milekh6681

Won’t get 8 amps out of that cheap panel

So, you've got a panel to create electricity from sunlight, a charge controller to put that electricity in a battery, and the battery to store the electricity for later use. Aside from the 12v output from the charge controller, what means do you have of making useful power from this system? Without a 110v inverter, or a way of connecting multiple 12v devices, how are you going to "use" this?

It's just a small set-up that might be useful if I had no other means of creating electrical power. Here in coastal Florida we get hurricanes that will knock out the electrical grid sometime of several days. I have a gas generator for temporary power and I usually store about 10 gallons of gas to feed the generator. There have been times when I've used up my gas supply and had to take gas out of my truck and motorcycle to keep from running out of gas. My little solar power system would be helpful if I ran completely out of gas. At least then I could charge my phone or power small devices. I hope that answers your question.

This video stops short of presenting any useful purpose. Maybe you could do one with an inverter to show you can plug things in like fans and such.

Yes, I will be doing another segment demonstrating that. Thanks for your suggestion.

I have a 12v system where i run 12v lights and a 12v fan and charge phones etc., no inverter used. Next i will be adding a 12v car stereo. I do have a separate system where an inverter is used tho.
