The Tornado's extra weight (compared with the Hobie 16) seems to make her much more stable and less 'bouncy'. Crewing for you on the Tornado at Vassiliki is definitely on my Bucket List Joe! thanks for another great video ... that camera behind the boat is fantastic, it's like we're just flying behind you without any strings attached! And the shots from the rescue boat at the end were just awesome!!

That Marstrom Tornado Joe is sailing fully rigged should be very near 340 lbs... or lighter than most old H16, and only 20lbs heavier than H16 class minimum newer boats. The Carbon rig on the T has less weight aloft... more waterline with less rocker in the hulls and MUCH more hull volume. Not to mention the extra 1.5 foot of width.. The H16 is fun.. but no match for a properly sailed T

I like the Tornado & the Hobie 16 - the Tornado for me is much more like serious sailing, a lot of boat there. The 16 is more like - let's see how much fun we can have.

Great on the water shots. Strategy is the hardest part of any race. And when you are dealing with wind intensity and direction changes, it's even harder. Cheers!

Yes, on the big course it makes a bigger difference than on a small course race where you get a 2nd chance.

That was sick well worth the wait would loved to have seen that last reach with a gps but there is always a next time you need to get the big T out more and set some big speeds loved these races to the rock.

Yes, I was a bit gutted not to see how fast we went there - I thought it felt the fastest that i'd ever been on a Tornado.

Great tornado footage Joe , some real screamer beats and especially the final reach. I’ve got an older Tornado up on the Okanagan lake in British Columbia , Canada. Just love it. We get 28 degree C water in the summer and sometimes 30 kt. southerly winds. I’ll try and post a video sometime. Looks like a great place to sail where you are in Greece.

Great camera set up and track information...it makes for a very enjoyable watch! Joe, what's the watch you use to record avg and top speed and other stats? You probably have one of the best jobs ever. Thank you for posting so much and the passion you transmit 👍🏼✌🏻

Technical video question: Which camera did you use for these shots? And how long was the pole on the end of the boom? Which devices and apps do you use to integrate the map and speed metrics in the video? Maybe you've explained this in a video, but I haven't been able to find it... Thanks in advance!

@@JoyriderTV it's not due to the limit of the dacron jib without full battens?
